Some interesting discussions and thoughts today.
First, we had an excellent discussion with the Foreign Affairs where we discussed the significance of Chinese-American cooperation and the historical relationship at key points in the 250 year history of the United States and China.
It is simply the case that we need to get on the same page and the solution to our differences is cooperation in developing economy such that the people of China, the United States are the beneficiaries. That means exactly the “rethink” proposed on September 24, 2026 by President Xi when he visited the White House.
A perfect metaphor at the Shanshan Guild Hall with Guang Gong, known to Chinese, also as Kwan Yue, who was a General during the Three Kingdoms time…around 150 AD.
His spirit of loyalty, righteousness, fidelity, faithfulness, courage, justice, strength, discipline are all needed to to make to make this happen.
I also met on the train, a young man, Mr. Hu who is a young electrical engineer, who rightfully is concerned for his future and what opportunities may be in his future.
I think of President Xi and his call to have 100,000 American students come to China over a five year period.
He stated that "the hope of the China-U.S. relationship lies in our people, and its future lies with the young".
Our nations need more voices for sanity, who will advocate to the highest levels the kind of commitment to a future of economic development that benefits the “General Welfare” that we see in the China of today and historically is rooted in the Constitutional republican tradition of the United States.
In the spirit of JFK:
Let us focus … on a more practical, more attainable peace-- based not on a sudden revolution in human nature but on a gradual evolution in human institutions--on a series of concrete actions and effective agreements which are in the interest of all concerned.
There is no single, simple key to this peace--no grand or magic formula to be adopted by one or two powers. Genuine peace must be the product of many nations, the sum of many acts. It must be dynamic, not static, changing to meet the challenge of each new generation. For peace is a process--a way of solving problems.
With such a peace, there will still be quarrels and conflicting interests, as there are within families and nations.---it requires only that they live together in mutual tolerance, submitting their disputes to a just and peaceful settlement... However fixed our likes and dislikes may seem, the tide of time and events will often bring surprising changes in the relations between nations and neighbors.
So let us persevere. Peace need not be impracticable, and war need not be inevitable. By defining our goal more clearly, by making it seem more manageable and less remote, we can help all peoples to see it, to draw hope from it, and to move irresistibly toward it.
So, let us not be blind to our differences--but let us also direct attention to our common interests and to the means by which those differences can be resolved.
And if we cannot end now our differences, at least we can help make the world safe for diversity. For, in the final analysis, our most basic common link is that we all inhabit this small planet. We all breathe the same air. We all cherish our children's future. And we are all mortal.

Recently, a video posted by tech blogger "Magical A-Yu" on his social media account has gone viral across the internet. In the video, Magical A-Yu spent two months handcrafting a manned flying skateboard and rode it to soar over the cities and mountains of Enshi.
According to Jimu News, Song Xingyu, 26 years old this year, was born in a rural area of Badong County, Enshi City, Hubei Province. He dropped out of school at 14 to help out at his father's lumber factory. From 18 to 22, he worked supplying timber at construction sites, and his two entrepreneurial ventures failed. He once built a three-story, 20-ton special-purpose boat, which ultimately sank after he was scammed, leaving him with over 2.4 million yuan in foreign debt.
This year, he self-taught mechanics, flight control, and AI technologies. After more than two months of repeated refinement, he created a manned electric flying skateboard. The skateboard uses AI for data monitoring and can perform hovering and straight-line flight. After more than ten days of repeated training, he finally mastered controlling the skateboard. Afterward, he rode it to fly over the cities and mountains of his hometown.
