A few months ago we were able to spread awareness in our community & from that now have wonderful support for Adapted PE from the Frederick Civitan. Lots of interest & planning around implementing the FCPS #WorkFitt program within secondary specialized programs. Programs will not only teach #vocationalskills but also the #fitness needed to develop & maintain the skills throughout life. Great morning guest teaching the FHS Coaching class all about #DisabilityAwarenessandAcceptance. Ss were great participants & engaged in the various conversations & activities. We discussed the array of hidden & visible disabilities, how to promote awareness & acceptance. From daily kindness to specific adaptations & modifications as well as #adaptiveequipment.
