Honored to speak at the @FDNY Phoenix Society’s annual scholarship dinner and celebrate its tireless work supporting Asian American firefighters and strengthening ties between the FDNY and our Asian American community.
In Congress, I’m working to secure funding to upgrade Queens firehouses. Our firefighters risk their lives to keep us safe—they deserve the best equipment and facilities to do their jobs.
Survivors deserve protection. Universities owe them accountability.
I joined the @DemWomensCaucus in demanding an investigation into Trump’s enforcement of Title IX. No student should have to fight their own government to be heard.

If Republicans actually cared about lowering costs, they would do something about it.
Don’t forget they control the House, Senate and White House.
I stopped by @SelfhelpNY in Maspeth to hear from local seniors and share an update on my work in Congress to lower costs, improve access to care, and more. Listening to their concerns helps my team and me better serve our community.

Great to stop by the 20th annual Hispanic/Latino Book Fair at the Hispanic/Latino Cultural Center of NY in Queens! Proud to celebrate writers across generations—from acclaimed novelist, essayist, and screenwriter Ernesto Quiñones to emerging student authors. Hispanic/Latino writers and creators enrich our communities, and we must keep uplifting their voices.

Measles is preventable. The U.S. declared it eliminated in 2000 thanks to widespread vaccination. The MMR vaccine is safe and effective—but keeping measles from spreading takes all of us. Protect yourself. Protect your community. Get your family vaccinated.

It was great to connect with the Middle Village Property Owner’s Association about my work in Congress to tackle mail theft and flooding in Queens—and how my office can help with federal agencies, including passport issues. Thank you for all you do for Middle Village!

Enough.
Even Ambassador Huckabee and senior American and Israeli officials have condemned this lawless terror.
Palestinians, journalists, and Israelis continue to be attacked.
I support the West Bank Violence Prevention Act to crack down on anyone in the West Bank who thinks violence and terror are the answer.
Several Palestinians and an American photojournalist working for the Washington Post were injured after a group of masked Israeli men attacked Palestinians harvesting olives in the West Bank, according to videos, eyewitnesses and Palestinian authorities. cbsn.ws/4yzZBYA
I joined @NYCMayor and more than 100 elected officials in called calling on parking lot and garage owners across New York City to stop giving them spaces to operate.
In New York City, ICE is already banned from public property. Now, we are asking private property owners to do the same. Don’t give them a base to terrorize our communities and tear families apart.
Enough is enough.
This past week, my team and I learned that a doctor from Maspeth who works at a local hospital had been detained by ICE. We stepped in to help with his case, and I’m grateful and relieved that he was released today.
But too many families never get that news.
We cannot let ICE to continue terrorizing our communities and disappearing people from their families, loved ones, and their jobs. We need to get ICE off our streets, away from our schools and hospitals, and out of our city for good.

A public execution is barbaric. This should never have been considered in the first place.

I am devastated by the horrific shooting at Silver Rail Elementary School, and my heart is with the entire community in Bend, Oregon.
No child or teacher should fear for their safety at school and their families shouldn’t have to worry whether they will make it home.
The time for responsible gun laws was long before this tragedy even happened. I have continued to fight for common-sense laws that would protect our communities from continuing to experience these preventable tragedies. When will my colleagues across the aisle find the courage to join that fight?
Keeping our communities safe takes all of us—and it demands action.

⛈️⛈️⛈️ Strong thunderstorms could move through the city as a cold front crosses NYC. The forecast shows winds picking up around 3 p.m., with the main storm window from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and possible gusts of 40 to 60 mph that could bring down tree branches. According to the forecast, the highest chance of severe storms is expected in western parts of the city.
Before any storm, it’s always a good idea take the following steps:
Secure loose items on balconies, rooftops, and patios.
Charge your phone and devices.
If you hear thunder, go inside and move away from windows.
Gusty winds are expected to continue Saturday morning, with gusts of 30 to 35 mph and much cooler temperatures.
Get alerts: text NOTIFYNYC to 692-692 or visit nyc.gov/notifynyc. Report downed trees to 311, and call 911 if anyone is in danger.
We’re bringing a new community center to Jackson Heights!
Proud to join Governor Hochul, Council Member Krishnan, and local leaders to announce an additional $10M from New York State to help make it happen.
I’m also proud to have secured $1M in federal funding for this project, pending final approval by Congress, and look forward to delivering it soon.
Together, we’re turning this community vision into reality!
