This cynical shit is sickening.
Investigation into Haines tragedy not even close to finished, looking more like is a combo Mental Health Isue (or lack of access to it in regions) resulting in Men's Violence Against Women, yet this political wannabe spits in face of tragedy 🤬
"eSafety Commissioner Julie Inman Grant has urged Australia not to “squander” the attack on independent MP Helen Haines, using the incident as an "opportunity" to renew her push for sweeping online safety measures."

A lovely story. It is never too late to applaud anyone who has proudly served our nation. 🇦🇺
I have not been able to identify why Ian's service was not previously recognised. Certainly, his records show Army service. I am glad it is fixed regardless! vwma.org.au/explore/people/7…
82 years ago, Ian Hart enlisted to serve his nation - and this week he was finally recognised for his service.
At the age 18, the Queenslander enlisted to serve in World War II.
He trained with the Water Transport Company and served in New Guinea, Manus Island, Bougainville and Borneo and survived the sinking of a 300-ton Army vessel at the closing stages of the Pacific campaign.
Tragically his older brother Morris was killed in New Guinea in 1945.
After returning to Queensland after the war, Ian purchased a cattle property near Gympie and would farm it for the next five decades.
But unlike his colleagues, he was never officially recognised for his service - until now.
It was my honour to present the 100-year-old with his official military honours in front of his family and friends.
On behalf of Queenslanders and our nation, we thank him for his sacrifice and his service.

Never in my life did I think I would witness something so abhorrent in a Western country. To see rape openly glorified as resistance is beyond sickening. If this is what some pro-Palestinian activists are promoting, I do not want anyone who advocates such barbarity in our country, regardless of who they are.

The below is an excerpt from @benmckelvey excellent book Find Fix Finish that confirms Ben Roberts-Smith recollections and remorse of the insider attack and follow on hunt for Hekmatullah, via my direct involvement in the hunt.
It was just after midnight when I walked into the Task Force 66 intelligence Fusion And Targeting Cell (#FATC) ‘What’s going on?’ I asked.
‘Green on blue,’ at an Aussie Patrol Base the boss replied.
I went straight to my computer and went to work, sending RFI (requests for information) across the @NATO_SOF intelligence network. I was looking at any #HUMINT or #SIGINT insurgents in the Baluchi/Dorafshan area I was monitoring.
I had to figure out if this attack was part of the insurgency, and more importantly were there going to be other attacks that night.
My main priority was to positively identify who the Afghan National Army (#ANA) soldier was that attacked @AustralianArmy soldiers, so that I could build a #JPEL target pack so that I could obtain Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance (#ISR) assets and legally target him.
A @ADF_SOCOMD Force Element Alpha (#FE_A #SASR ) element were going up to the patrol base immediately. After about 15 minutes (but felt like hours) there was a hard knock on the door of the FATC, it was Ben Roberts-Smith and he looked straight at me and stated "get your shit on mate, you're coming with us". This was so I could interview the remaining ANA soldiers to gather immediate actionable intelligence for the FE to act upon.
The Commanding Officer's priority was to identify and locate this attacker ASAP.
‘You don’t get to kill @AustralianArmy soldiers and get away with it,’ was the mood within the Task Force.
A FE A element were able to be sent to the patrol base that night, to resolve the stand-off between our (@AustralianArmy) 3RAR brothers and the remaining ANA soldiers, but mainly the FE A operators wanted to show that big brother was there and, ‘give them a hug and assure the remaining @AustralianArmy soldiers that we had their back and weren't going to rest until we had the killer.'
By early morning I had identified that the killer was Afghan National Army (ANA) Sergeant (Zabet) #Hekmatullah .
It was early morning now and I had raised Hekmatullah on to the JPEL as Objective Jungle Effect. The hunt for Hekmatullah was now on and It was my role to find his location, and brief the leadership who then tasked the FE to go to that location and search for him.
Objective Jungle Effect was designated by PM @JuliaGillard, the @ausgov and @DefenceAust
as the new top ‘national priority target’ and was ‘green’ on the JPEL, meaning I could use all the various intelligence collection platforms to locate Hekmatullah. We didn't rest for the next weeks we didn't rest until I had it confirmed via @NATO_SOF intelligence that Hekmatullah had reached Pakistan.

One of the leaders of the French riots is 23 year old Yazan Majdal Abu Sammour, a prominent Palestinian activist.

“They are pretty desperate”
When asked about the Dirt File, Helen Haines said Labor were “pretty desperate”
When you read over the requests put to journalists - in truth the PMs Office was very detailed and gave specific instructions to the press pack
The media had clear expectations of the work the PM was looking for
And it raises serious questions about media and government integrity, under Labor

I'M SURE YOU WILL ALL REMEMBER THIS!!!
Helen Haines has been a vocal critic of what is often referred to as "grey corruption". In 2026, she formally referred $1.35 billion in Albanese government election-commitment grants to the Australian National Audit Office (ANAO). Her analysis revealed that nearly 90% of those closed, invitation-only grants went to Labor-held or won electorates. And Haines stated that she and the Labor Party have a "fundamental disagreement" about what constitutes corruption versus standard election commitments, arguing that spending taxpayer money without an open, competitive merits process is unacceptable.
Helen Haines publicly challenged a $6 million federal grant awarded to the Marrickville Golf Club, which sits within Anthony Albanese's Sydney electorate of Grayndler. Haines labelled the broader $560 million invitation-only infrastructure program "pork-barrelling by design" after research showed nearly three-quarters of the funding favoured Labor-held seats. It was also revealed that the Prime Minister held an undeclared honorary membership at the club.
Prime Minister Albanese's office subsequently circulated a political "dirt sheet" or briefing document to journalists questioning Haines' own integrity and her advocacy for funding projects in her own electorate of Indi. Posted by Annette McKenzie Baillie.

🚨 Greens, Labor and far-left activists scramble to distance themselves from pro-Hamas climate radical suspected of attack on independent MP Helen Haines.
The Greens leader was quick to unfollow the account, as others on the far left who tried to pin the attack on One Nation were left with egg on their faces after the suspect's documented history of left-wing activism and sympathy for Hamas terrorism came to light.

BREAKING: Albanese has been plotting against Helen Haines for the last five weeks because she criticised a $6 million grant to Albanese’s Marrickville Golf Club as “pork-barrelling by design”
Since then, Albanese has been on the attack. The day after her comments his staff gave a dirt sheet on Haines to journalists with a list of requests including:
-A list of Haines’ advocacy for projects in Indi of $1.8 billion then raising questions about the value for money and due diligence of those projects
***Asking journalists to check for personal or professional connections, donations, or undeclared benefits that might create conflicts*** framed as potential avenues to examine, not proven allegations…
Specific examples given included:
-Whether Haines had received undeclared wine or food from local businesses, held business interests, received political donations, or had personal associations with businesses that could benefit from tourism funding?
-For an $8 million Benalla Art Gallery redevelopment request, Albanese asked whether Haines had visited, been a member, donated, or had any personal professional connection with employees or the board?
-For a local recreation centre upgrade Albanese asked if Haines had played or trained with local clubs, watched games, or received jerseys/equipment?
-Made reference to her, and her spouse’s receipt of Mount Buller ski lift passes, alongside later requests for resort infrastructure funding
The document supplied no proof of undisclosed wrongdoing but Haines told the Daily Mail she had not seen it previously, and described the approach as “pretty desperate”
See how Albanese and Labor operate? See how the media play their part?

HELEN HAINES ATTACK
I found some extra information on Helen Haines alleged attacker, Brendan Nugent, 43 (identified from vehicle plates and his matching digital footprint) 🧐
It seems that Brendan Nugent and Helen Haines have historically shared overlapping views on environmental policy and regional advocacy, but their broader political behavior dramatically diverged.
* Environmental Alignment: Both Nugent and Haines aligned on key ecological issues.
Nugent has been identified as a local forest conservation advocate and a proponent of environmental action, which aligned closely with Haines' community policies supporting climate action and the transition to renewable energy.
* Early Support: Records show Nugent was a local supporter of the "Voices for Indi" independent movement in the late 2010s, the grassroots campaign structure that successfully elected Haines to parliament.
Divergence and Radicalisation: While Haines remained an institutional independent operating within parliamentary guidelines, Nugent's digital footprint shifted heavily toward extreme anti-establishment rhetoric.
* In the period leading up to the incident, his public posts leaned into conspiratorial narratives, aggressive rants targeting politicians, and radical stances on international conflicts, including strong pro-Palestine, anti-Israel rhetoric and support for Hamas and the Houthis.
He also follows Candace Owens, Thomas Massie, and Michael West on X
* Helen herself has consistently maintained a balanced approach regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, prioritising international law, humanitarian advocacy, and a path toward peace.
She explicitly condemned the October 7, 2023, attacks perpetrated by Hamas against Israel.
She publicly affirmed Israel's right to defend itself while emphasising that the violence and suffering that followed are intolerable.
She had consistently maintained a clear stance calling for the immediate and unconditional release of all remaining hostages held by Hamas.
Haines strongly advocated for a negotiated two-state solution as the only viable mechanism for achieving enduring peace and security for both Israelis and Palestinians.
She formally stated that recognising Palestinian statehood is a critical and long-overdue step necessary to advance the peace process.
SUMMARY
It seems that while Nugent and Haines originally shared a similar baseline of local green-independent politics, Nugent's escalating online behavior and ultimate actions marked a total break from the conventional, respectful political discourse that Haines herself has historically championed.
Maybe this divergence was the trigger? 🤷♂️
