A player like Vini takes a better first touch there and he gets himself in a good scoring position with his stronger foot. It’s the little details.

Arsenal have won 81.1% of Premier League games in which they’ve scored first under Mikel Arteta (137/169). Only Ferguson, Guardiola and Mourinho have a better record. Setting the standard when it matters 👏

Move on please.
Morgan Rogers with another goal. Berta messed that up big time. If he had signed him before the World Cup instead of haggling over peanuts he would be our player now.

Pride wan finish me.
Are Arsenal fans genuinely proud of the way their team plays? Baffles me.

🎆 Only the second team to do it 👏 ✅ Just Man Utd have more Premier League away wins (328) than Arsenal. They've also ended a 13-game PL winless run at Anfield!

Not really spoke about the game on here but thought it was pretty incredible how Arteta managed phases of the game, they got the goal early after a lot of end to end chances, then adapted to reduce the space for Gakpo/Barcola/Isak - they had one 4v3 on the break and Arteta shut up shop. Arsenal dont have that same pace & power on the break as Liverpool, so he changed, reduced the space and got his players in shorter spaces where they could physically dominate esp in the centre & out wide. He’s truly an incredible manager, man.
Main issue is that Barcola’s main superpower is running / spinning in behind however the supply from players around him isn’t good enough. He’s not a standstill-type of 1v1 player - think you see the glimpses over short distances but when space shrinks he looks less productive.

Arsenal went to Anfield, created one big chance and took it. What followed was a side defending as if their lives depended on it, and for the first time in history, a team went to Anfield and stopped Liverpool registering a single shot on target. Clinicality is the lesson. They're the best side OOP. Meticulously drilled. They relish defending. They're defensively coded and they love it, every single one of them. They love duelling, the physical battle, blocking shots, defending space. Yes, they might not be the most exciting team to watch IP lately, but they get the job done and they win. To beat them, you have to be exceptional at both ends. We've got a lot to do, Maresca. A lot, if we're serious about the title. Please lock in.

Thing is, Arsenal got the 3 points today but Liverpool ultimately won. All that performance did was make it clear that Liverpool can compete and our players will be kicking themselves for how poor they were in the final third. Meanwhile every PL team now has the blueprint to stifle and frustrate Arsenal. 1st November. It’s a long season for you plastic Arsenal fans.

Liverpool were actually very very good in attack. Our defence was just up to the task.
