How to achieve affordability is the question of the moment - @AaronBastani is right.
Now the Democrats must deliver.

America needs genuine democratic rule, not an outdated, unresponsive government that serves entrenched interests. Now that Democrats control Congress, what is their plan to put political power back in the hands of the people? #PeoplePower

China isn't winning by accident. It is pursuing a long-term economic strategy while the West remains trapped in financial speculation, corporate profiteering, and imperial complacency. The contradiction is becoming impossible to ignore.

Kwame's unspoken point: the dictatorship of capital cannot be defeated through elections, individual dissent, or spontaneous protest. It requires organized proletarian power. Workers must organize, educate, and build the foundations of economic democracy. #ClassStruggle

Shedding a new light on the global imbalances: saving-investment imbalances due to distorted policies are only symptoms of the defected international monetary and financial system.
Global imbalances are back, and the conventional diagnosis may be wrong.
Conventional analysis by the International Monetary Fund, G7 + OECD traces the imbalances to domestic saving–investment gaps, pointing to "excess saving in China and the EU, and too little saving in the United States."
In a new working paper, GDP Center Non-Resident Senior Fellow @YanLian31677392 + Center Director @KevinPGallagher argue that the root cause of the imbalances is in fact the financial imbalances generated by the international monetary and financial system (IMFS) itself. Dollar dominance and the lack of a credible global lender of last resort push countries to self-insure.
For this month's T20 Summit in New York, the authors contribute to a policy brief ahead of the December G20 Leaders' Summit. They present two priorities for G20 discussions on imbalances:
📍 Strengthening the global financial safety net (GFSN)
📍 Accelerating multilateral development bank (MDB) reform
The goal is to make these systems "not just bigger, but better."

Trump's era has been so bad that a blue wave probably smells like relief. The naked fascism feels like it took a hit. But don't be deceived. Capital is still large and in charge and if it needs more fascism to lock in its vision, any relief will be short lived. Democrats are capitalists. They are war mongers. They are part of the ruling elites army to ensure capital accumulation continues unabated.
If you go back to brunch and run cover for this new crop of capitalist administrators, you will be doing a grave disservice to the people of the world, who suffer under blue or red imperialism. The campus crackdowns under Biden? Fascism. "China is the enemy" nonsense from Biden's SOTU... fascism... Gaza under Biden? Fascism, imperialism. ICE? Defund ICE? Trump's brownshirts? Flock cameras? AI job displacement?
DSA is capitalist. They do NOT pose a threat to the rule of capital. The dictatorship of capital remains unfazed. They are imperialists as well. They are not socialists and they are content as class collaborators.
So breathe... yes it was good to remove some of the visible unchecked power... but it isn't a real victory and those who pretend otherwise are not to be trusted. They are class collaborators as well.

The clearest evidence of America's continued hegemony over the "West" is its capacity to sell kabuki democracy to voters and commentators despite the consistent continuity of ruthless, violent wealth extraction the U.S. 'empire' imposes at home and overseas.
Midterms are irrelevant. Duopoly party distinctions are irrelevant. Voters are irrelevant.
By somehow failing to see this, analysts are serving the interests of the Epstein elite.

US bond issuance are a monetary policy operation meant to drain reserves from the banking system and keep the interest rate from dropping towards zero.
Misleading headlines like this don't help matters, do better.
The US government borrowed a record $839 billion this week via its sales of Treasury bills and notes — both to repay holders of maturing debt and to raise the additional capital needed to finance the federal deficit. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
