I see basically universal denunciation of Haley Stevens from Democrats and liberal pundits—traitor, burn the witch, etc.—and honestly it's a bit much. More politicians should feel comfortable saying "X person on my side is a bridge too far." Dems usually cheer this when GOP does this, it's Profiles in Courage or whatnot for the Liz Cheneys for the world. reason.com/2026/11/01/haley-…

You can tell how awful China would have become without communism by looking at the great desitution in Singapore and Taiwan
If Chiang Kai-Shek had won, today China would be utterly poverty-stricken, have zero nuclear weapons, and would probably be host to a lot of U.S. military bases
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Chiang Kai-shek's government became modern Taiwan, which has higher life expectancy, higher GDP per capita, and hosts no US military bases. georank.org/life-expectanc… countryeconomy.com/countries/comp… en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_St…

Did I greenlight this? Yes. Am I going to regret it? Also, probably, yes. Watch @robbysoave & @christianbrits, maybe slightly tipsy, on election night (I promise they won't be in costumes this time 😅) youtube.com/live/yBFGLqfumrw

As @StephenKentX points out, it isn't millennials. Millennials love the prequels and are largely responsible for rehabilitating them. It's jaded, cynical, irony-pilled Gen Xers who hated them, for exactly the reasons doomer lays out (but attributes to millennial nerds).
the reason millenial nerds feel a compulsion to shit on the star wars prequels, despite the obvious cinematic brilliance, is they are played entirely earnest. there is no jim from the office winking at the camera, which makes them excruciating to the irony poisoned millenial mind

Family Guy recently made a Civil War version of "Who's on First" that had me crying laughing. It had no business being that good.

Wow
SCOOP: Democrats have insisted they have nothing to do with the other Dan Sullivan on Alaska's Senate ballot. But aides with the Mary Peltola campaign and DSCC were part of a monthslong secret plan to recruit him to run -- as well as other candidates. nytimes.com/2026/10/28/us/po…

Just as predicted. I think I said this to @KaivanShroff. The fate of all issues is to become partisan. Data centers are still pre-partisan, but that will sort itself out eventually, with Republicans becoming pro data centers and Democrats being anti.
it seems like data center public sentiment has found its bottom, with notable recovery among republicans heatmap.news/daily/data-cent…

This! @christianbrits pans the "unethical travesty" that is Nathan Fielder's You Can See Everything. "There's no getting around the fact that Nathan Fielder made a crooked bargain to get his documentary made," he writes. I agree. I'm surprised, and a bit disappointed, that more people aren't denouncing the filmmakers' tactics. Fielder made a documentary about someone who conned people out of money they were owed—and then goes and does something... kind of similar. reason.com/2026/10/26/nathan…

Problem [Now]: Many tenants are not paying rent. Solution: Landlords and taxpayers will eat 2/3 cost of unpaid rent. Problem [Soon]: Many tenants are still not paying rent. Solution: Landlords and taxpayers will eat full cost of unpaid rent. This is not smart!
Every year, thousands of DC residents lose their homes over unpaid rent. Most owe less than $5,000. Going to court is stressful for tenants, expensive for landlords, and slows down the system. We need a better way to resolve rent issues. 🧵⬇️

The Russian fighters are not conscripts. They signed up for this.

The endless slaughter of Ukrainian and Russians must stop. We should some sympathy for the poor Russian conscripts too. Those kids have no choice but to fight and die in drone strikes.
