Many people are familiar with #Alzheimer's disease, but may know less about Lewy body dementia. This is an umbrella term covering two types of dementia: dementia with Lewy bodies and Parkinson’s dementia. We explain more about these conditions on our website: dementiauk.org/information-a…

The real horror of Halloween. Artificial cobweb: a bit of fake fun for you, but a very real and terrifying death for them. If you see your neighbours using it, it's possible they don't know the danger so please print out this simple leaflet and pop it through their door: tinyurl.com/HalloweenHedgeho… The fine, strong synthetic fibres of this lethal 'web' are difficult for animals to see at dusk and can quickly wrap around their legs, wings, and neck, trapping and killing birds, insects and mammals. When Eden the hedgehog struggled to free herself the web tightened, cutting off circulation and causing deep wounds. Can you imagine the pain and sheer terror? And then seeing dawn approach, while hanging there, tightly bound and helpless, only an inch above the ground but suffering slow strangulation. Aside from being stressed, dehydrated, starving and exhausted, she also had horrific bite/peck wounds to her face, where she had been held there, helpless, unable to curl and defend herself, while a predator tried to eat her alive. Tragically her constriction injuries were too severe to survive, and poor Eden had to be put to sleep. If you have used this deadly cruel trap to 'decorate' your garden, I beg you - take it down now. Please spread this vital information, and help save lives.

Grappling with going electric, and public EV chargers. Really don't understand why it's not cheaper, given that this is the way to go. It is cheaper than filling up, but not if you need a quick charge, and what do you do while you're doing a slow charge?

The Decision-making guide for #GPs, endorsed by the Royal College of GPs, aims to help clinicians recognise the symptoms of #dementia in younger people. It currently takes twice as long – on average more than four years – for a younger person to receive a diagnosis as it does an older person. Download yours now: youngdementianetwork.org/res…

No enquiries for this girl, her appeals never seem to get as much attention as others, can you please share to give her a chance? Trixie is still looking for a loving home, can you share to help her on her way? Meet Trixie, she is a 6 year old, Staffy X (White) Through no fault of her own Trixie is looking for a new loving home. Sadly with a lot of soul searching her present owner has had to make the heart breaking decision to have to rehome Trixie as they have developed a severe allergic allergy to her coat. Trixie is a very loyal, loving girl who loves being spoilt and getting lots of cuddles, she loves any kind of attention she enjoys being all cosy and snuggling up with you. She loves meeting people and loves attention from anyone. She is good around children, Trixie can be reactive sometimes with other dogs. Not happy around cats. Not good with the hoover. She would be best placed in her new home with no other animals. Trixie is registered with the vet, microchipped, no medical issues, not on any medications, she is fit and healthy, weight 27kg. She is up to date with her vaccinations, she is due her yearly check up on the 28th November. Trixie's diet - she eats wet and dry food, she’s on Forthglade wet and Hunters Club dry twice a day. She is very food motivated, and loves her treats. Trixie likes playing in the garden, enjoys going for walks. She likes toys, her favourite is a ball, especially if it has a squeaker. When going on walks can get a bit excited at first, can pull on her lead, however will settle down. She is not keen on dogs, she will walk past them fine, however she doesn’t like other dogs in her space and she will snap at them. Trixie is good with commands. She can be left on her own. She travels well in the car, can become vocal. She sleeps in her own bed, unless she is sometimes allowed on the owners bed. This beautiful girl is looking for her new human companion, to share lots of adventures, walks and all her love with. If Trixie sounds like the dog for you email [email protected] for more information.

What a great post, and Alice is amazing, clearly very talented. Thanks for sharing the footage and Alice's response.
Alice Barker spent her younger years performing as a chorus girl at Harlem’s legendary Cotton Club, dancing during one of the most celebrated periods in American entertainment. Despite all the time she spent on stage, there was something she had never experienced: watching herself perform. The recordings of those performances had seemingly been lost to history, leaving Alice with nothing but her memories of the music, lights, and excitement. Then, at the remarkable age of 102, Alice received an unexpected gift. Archivists uncovered rare footage from her dancing days, allowing her to see her younger self performing for the very first time. After decades of remembering those moments, she could finally witness them through her own eyes. Imagine living more than a century, carrying memories of your youth, only to suddenly watch those memories come to life on film. For Alice, it was more than a nostalgic experience. It was an emotional reunion with a younger version of herself and a chapter of her life she thought she would never see again. Her story is a beautiful reminder that history isn’t always about major events or famous figures. Sometimes, its most powerful moments come from ordinary people rediscovering extraordinary pieces of their own lives.

After nearly 50 years working as a civil servant at RAF Lossiemouth, Kenneth thought he could rely on his pension after retirement. Then Capita tool control of his pension scheme. Despite retiring in May, Kenneth hasn't been paid a penny by Capita. And he's not alone. Thousands are left without an income by outsourced incompetence. 📣 Pls shout out and share, and tell Capita to pay up or move over ♻️ #CapitaFail #PensionRights

Many people with Parkinson's experience trouble with sleep, which over time, can significantly reduce quality of life. Early research has shown that blue light therapy, delivered through a device called PROPEAQ, may help to improve these symptoms: prksn.uk/4ARmLvC

When I met Angela Rayner to campaign for change to overly aggressive council tax debt collection, with its unprecedented rapid escalation to balliffs, she nodded like most politicians do. I explained it was destructive for individuals, councils and the economy. She listened more then said she'd change it. I was sceptical. Yet a consultation was launched within weeks and delightfully the change announced within 18mths (its in place from next April) - bullet train pace for politics. I've a rule that if I campaign for a politician (of any party) to do something, and they do it, I say thank you. Its important to recognise it. So thank you so much Angela Rayner for listening and more importantly acting. The changes coming are a great start.
I promised we'd make council tax fairer, and I’m getting on with the job. Too many working people have seen council tax debt spiral before they had the chance to get help. That's why we're introducing more time to pay, clearer warnings if you miss a payment and more support from councils. Thanks to @MartinSLewis and @mmhpi for their tireless campaigning to make this change happen. Here's everything you need to know ⬇️

The Prime Minister @andyburnham's personal commitment to making dementia a central priority for his Government is clear. His announcement of £48 million for dementia research is an important step towards accelerating the development of urgently needed new treatments and better support for people living with dementia. Every day, our Admiral Nurses support families who are crying out for a system that is there when they need it, rather than leaving them to navigate fragmented services alone. We share the Prime Minister’s ambition to ensure that people living with dementia get the care and support they need. We cannot let this opportunity for progress pass us by.

Amazingly, somehow US politics and enactment seems to be able to reach new lows on a daily basis. And live streaming killing, whatever the reason, adds to the list along with this horrific event.
New York City Mayor Mamdani said he spent two hours on the phone with President Trump and DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin to negotiate for the release of the man who was shot by ICE agents on Thursday, but those negotiations were unsuccessful. Mamdani also said a 5-year-old was inside the car at the time of the shooting. DHS said in a statement that officers were conducting a targeted enforcement operation to arrest a man from the Dominican Republic who they allege was living in the United States illegally.

🔴'@Helen_Whately, Shadow Secretary of State for Work & Pensions, has claimed £2 MILLION in expenses in 10 years. Her boss, @KemiBadenoch, has 3 children, claims £2.7K per month to rent a 6 bed farmhouse and tried to claim expenses for a family holiday. The country can't afford @Conservatives.' - @TyrelWallace
Helen Whatley MP spends every day bashing disabled people online and calling them scroungers. She has claimed for almost £2,000,000 on expenses since 2015. £300,000 of this are for her own travel and accommodation etc, yet she lives 50 miles from London.
