Jay Tarriela is lying again.
All other ADMM-Plus member states received their invitations in late September or early October. However, the participation of the Chinese delegation was obstructed by Philippine Secretary of National Defense (SND) Gilberto Teodoro, who acted out of personal self-interest and disregarded the ADMM-Plus principle of openness and inclusivity.
Only after other ASEAN countries expressed strong opposition to such acts that the Philippines Department of National Defense (DND) reluctantly sent an invitation letter to China on October 22. It was signed by a its Undersecretary of National Defense, who was unwilling to even put a date on the letter. On October 23, Teodoro said in a press conference that China had been sent notice only the previous day.
It left China fewer than five working days for preparation. China was also required to complete its registration within just two days. Under such circumstances, it was virtually impossible to complete the necessary preparation.
While Teodoro took a position contrary to the "ASEAN Way," China, by contrast, has never singled out the Philippines in its multilateral defense cooperation with ASEAN. In fact, despite the extremely tight deadline, China still managed to send a delegation to the meeting.
Tarriela, if you don't know what actually happened, go ask Teodoro, the DND, or the other participating countries. Stop spreading lies, distorting facts, and turning right into wrong when you don't even have a clear understanding of the situation. Don't deliberately stir up controversy and sow discord based on misinformation.

China’s first ship-borne stealth reconnaissance and attack drone "GJ-21" recently made its first successful take-off and landing on 076 amphibious assault ship, the "Sichuan" (Hull 51).
This is another significant breakthrough in the development of China's amphibious assault ship, indicating that the Chinese Navy now has the capability to operate fixed-wing stealth drones from large maritime combat platforms.
Launched on December 27, 2024, the Sichuan (Hull 51) is the first vessel of Type 076 amphibious assault ships designed and developed independently by China. It incorporates the automatic carrier landing guidance system, new integrated power system, and electromagnetic catapult-assisted takeoff and arrested landing technology, and is capable of carrying fixed-wing unmanned aircraft, helicopters, and amphibious equipment, etc.
Since its first sea trial in November 2025, the Sichuan warship has been steadily conducting various maritime tests as planned, successfully completing the debugging of various equipment and overall operational stability tests.

In today's strategic and technological environment, maritime blockade is an extremely difficult operation. In the Hormuz crisis, neither the United States nor Iran has completely blockaded the strait.
BREAKING: Despite the U.S. naval blockade, Iran has imported at least $2 billion in missile and drone hardware through a shadow network of more than 5,000 Ministry of Defense agencies.
per a Reuters investigation.
Then the details sharpen it: one agency alone, MOD 346428, brought in $2.3 billion between January 2025 and June 2026 — rocket fuel ingredients, explosives, aircraft engine parts, and 435 Iveco trucks that can serve as mobile missile launchers. Shipments kept moving by land, sea, and air during the war itself. And in 97% of the reviewed transactions, no currency crossed a border at all.
So on paper, there's a blockade. In practice, the missile supply never stopped.

After his first visit to China, Australian geopolitical analyst Barry Healy says the gap between what he saw firsthand and how China is portrayed back home is striking. Australia's economy relies heavily on trade with China. So why, he asks, is China framed as a threat to those very trade routes? "Logic has very little to do with it." Tune in to hear his take on China-Australia relations. #ChinaAustralia

On October 21, with approval from the Chinese side, the Philippines delivered living necessities to its ship illegally “grounded” at China’s Ren’ai Jiao. The China Coast Guard (CCG) inquired and verified the Philippine vessel conducting the delivery, and monitored the whole process.
The CCG will continue to conduct law-enforcement and rights-protection operations in China’s Nansha Qundao and its adjacent waters, including Ren’ai Jiao, in accordance with the law.

China, ROK maritime authorities hold joint patrol to maintain fishing order
China and the Republic of Korea conducted a joint maritime law enforcement patrol from Oct 8 to 17 to maintain fishing order and strengthen cooperation, according to the China Coast Guard.
The China Coast Guard vessel Changshan and the ROK fisheries inspection vessel Mugunghwa 42 patrolled the provisional measures zone designated under the China-ROK fisheries agreement.
The patrol lasted more than 210 hours and covered over 1,200 nautical miles. Personnel from both countries observed and recorded the activities of 123 fishing vessels, issued verbal reminders and guidance to 74, and boarded three for inspections. Fishing operations in the patrolled waters were generally orderly, the coast guard said.
The coast guard described the patrol as a practical step in implementing the bilateral fisheries agreement. It said the operation strengthened exchanges and cooperation between the two countries' maritime law enforcement agencies and their joint management of fishing vessels operating in the zone, supporting efforts to combat illegal fishing, maintain fishing order and conserve marine fishery resources.
The China Coast Guard said it would continue to strengthen professional exchanges and practical cooperation with ROK maritime law enforcement agencies, enhance mutual understanding and jointly protect fishery resources in the Yellow Sea.

Director Hu Bo's comment on Oct.8 in Hanio: DOC/COC is a mechanism of“10+1”instead of ASEAN plus China. Moreover, China is one of six claimants, not too special. As to the SCS issues, China should be treated equally based on the truth and facts, rather be given excessive attention and demands just because China is a great power.

84 Years of Friendship:
On October 10, 2026, six representatives of descendants of the Doolittle Raid participants visited Shangrao, east China's Jiangxi Province, to view a historical exhibition, revisit rescue sites and pay tribute to the Chinese people who rescued American airmen 84 years ago.
The Doolittle Raid, planned and led by U.S. Lieutenant Colonel James Doolittle on April 18, 1942, was an air raid on Japan as a retaliation for the attack on the U.S. Pearl Harbor.
After the raid, 15 planes heading for an airport in Quzhou ran out of fuel and crashed in various localities in east China.
Chinese villagers risked their lives to rescue the parachuting airmen and helped them evacuate to safety. Of the 75 airmen aboard the planes, 64 were rescued by the Chinese people. However, many locals were suspected of sheltering the Americans, and some were tortured or even killed by Japanese soldiers.
In China, the Doolittle story has long been regarded as a symbol of the friendship forged between the Chinese and American peoples during their joint fight against fascism.

Senior Captain Zhai Shichen, spokesperson for the PLA Southern Theater Command (STC):on October 3, a Philippine C-208 aircraft illegally intruded into the territorial airspace over China’s Huangyan Dao without approval from the Chinese government. The naval and air forces dispatched by the PLA STC tracked and monitored the Philippine aircraft, and issued warnings to expel it in accordance with laws and regulations. Huangyan Dao is China’s inherent territory. The acts by the Philippine side seriously violate China’s sovereignty and are highly likely to cause unintended maritime and air incidents. We sternly warn the Philippine side to stop rights-violation and provocative acts immediately. Forces of the STC remain on high alert at all times to firmly safeguard national sovereignty and security as well as regional peace and stability.

1. China has sovereignty over Nansha Qundao, including Zhongye Dao and Tiexian Jiao, and their adjacent waters, as well as sovereign rights and jurisdiction over relevant waters. Chinese coast guard vessels conduct patrol and law enforcement operations in waters under China’s jurisdiction in accordance with the law, consistent with international law, including the UNCLOS. China firmly opposes any actions taken by the Philippines based on its unilateral claims and will continue to take resolute measures to safeguard China’s territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests.
2. China attaches great importance to protecting the marine ecological environment and fishery resources in the South China Sea, and firmly opposes and cracks down hard on illegal fishing activities such as blast fishing and the use of poison to catch fish. The fishing vessel accused by the Philippines of engaging in destructive fishing is not Chinese vessel. The Philippines first obstructed the lawful enforcement activities of the Chinese law enforcement vessel and then deliberately withheld key information to mislead public opinion. This constitutes a deliberate provocation against and smear attack on China.
3. Recently, Philippine military and law enforcement vessels have repeatedly created incidents at sea and engaged in extensive publicity and hype, undermining China-Philippines relations and peace and stability in the South China Sea. China has responded forcefully. Their attempts will not succeed.

Many in the US slam Trump’s grand reception of Xi as unreciprocal. But nitpicking protocol is pointless. China gave Trump a "State Visit+" in 2017, plus another state visit this May. This is actually Xi’s first state visit since 2015. True confidence doesn't obsess over symbols.
