Big news! @ScrapingBee has been acquired by Oxylabs’ Group 🎉
@PierreDeWulf and I (almost) bootstrapped @ScrapingBee from day one, grew to 2500+ customers all around the world, and built a team of amazing people.
This is a milestone we could only dream of when we launched ScrapingBee just a few years ago.
Oxylabs’s group is the perfect match to take ScrapingBee to the next level 💪
They are not only the market leader, but they know how to move fast.
I’m already learning and implementing a ton of things that are improving ScrapingBee, and making me grow as an entrepreneur/operator.
I’m incredibly grateful to our amazing team, my incredible co-founder @PierreDeWulf our families, our early customers who trusted us, our investors @tinyseedfund @robwalling @einarvollset
Thanks to all the people who worked hard to make this deal happen: our M&A advisors at Discretion Capital Dan,Scott and @einarvollset , the incredible team at Oxylabs, Julius, Jurgis and of course our lawyers.
The journey was not easy but it was 100% worth it.
Impressive growth! 13% monthly churn = about 7 months average customer lifetime.
At what churn % does "MRR" stop meaning recurring?
I recently stepped down as CEO of @ScrapingBee .
@PierreDeWulf and I started ScrapingBee in 2019. We were two engineers with no network, no funding, and honestly no idea what we were doing on the business side.
Fast forward to 2025: @Oxylabs_io acquires us. I stay on to help with the transition, and what was supposed to be "just a transition year" turned into one of the best learning experience in my career.
Working inside a 500+ person organization taught me things I couldn't have learned running a 6 person team:
✅How to navigate complex decision-making across departments
✅ How to implement the right metrics to have a better view of the business (hello KPI meetings) and act on it.
✅ How to let go of control (still working on this one) and hire/delegate
I'm grateful for every bit of it. To the Oxylabs team who welcomed us, to @PierreDeWulf who's been the best co-founder anyone could ask for, and to every ScrapingBee customer and team member who made the ride unforgettable.
ScrapingBee is now in great hands with @staskarolis 🔥
Moving forward I will still be involved as an advisor.
So here's what's next: I'm acquiring SaaS companies.
After 7+ years of building, scaling, and exiting a B2B SaaS, I want to find great products built by founders who are ready to move on — and give those products the next chapter they deserve.
If you're a SaaS founder thinking about selling or even just starting to think about it: send me a DM.
I'm looking for products in the $500K–$2m ARR range, profitable with a solid customer base. Ideally in the dev-tool / API / data space.
If you know someone who fits that description, I'd owe you one. Tag them or send them my way.
Let's go 💪

🗺️Which Countries Joke The Most?
We analyzed a year's worth of Reddit threads from around the globe using @MistralAI!
352,686 comments and 9,969 threads across country subreddits to see who's joking and who's not.

✍️We're hiring a freelance technical content writer for the @ScrapingBee blog.
If you love to write engaging technical content (not boring doc) you can apply here: weworkremotely.com/remote-jo…
I think the opposite. Once you have enough savings (12-24 months) you should go all in and quit your job.
For most people in tech the worst case scenario, meaning their startup failing is not that bad. They can find a new job fast.
So easy to procrastinate on « side projects » while having a full time job.
For most people it stays a side project forever because of how comfortable and addictive a salary is.

What is the best Heroku-like PAAS out there?
@clever_cloud has been a literal nightmare lately and we need a stable solution.
Make a B2B SaaS.
You won’t need the 100k followers!
You won’t need a lot of customers, lower churn…
Solo making sucks,
And is just getting worse!
We've got a problem.
Big makers give advice, but they're already famous.
Imagine this: A 100k follower account tweets "GM" and gets 30k views.
Regular Joe does it, barely gets any.
It's all about attention in the world, not the tool.
Top makers grab attention,
then cash in by selling products to their fans.
Newbies struggle to join the game.
More creators than consumers make competition tough.
What's the solution?
Record label logic.
Famous maker stops building stuff and starts promoting newbies instead.
That's what we do.
We gather talented makers.
Some win attention for all products while others build them.
We share ownership but main maker takes most of it.
This might be indie/open source future and we could lead it.
We run UBI (basic incom) too - cover costs and work stress-free!
Movies, music, sports did it.
Why not us?
Let's try this crazy experiment together.

🪄 Another dive on how AI could help scrape structured data from HTML.
This time, product information.
TL;DR: non-determinism is a big issue. But we're getting there!

🎥 First YouTube sponsor ever for @ScrapingBee!
We worked with @colbyfayock on amazing coding tutorials.
I’ve always been an advocate on "focus 100% on SEO".
But we wanted to expand "top of the funnel" channels a bit.
Excited to see how it goes.

We're trying something new! 🐝
We've grown @ScrapingBee to $1m+ ARR, 99% thanks to SEO.
But now feels like a good time to expand and explore new things!
If you think you can help us do so, you'll be interested in our new position 👇

Lots of people in this thread are advising to automate the sales process or interact by email.
My advice is the complete opposite.
I've done hundreds of sales call with ScrapingBee as an introvert.
At the beginning I was scared and it put me outside of my comfort zone.
But the more I did it, the more I learned to use my introvert personality as a superpower: LISTEN!
