Thank you to the many MSPs in the chamber tonight who mentioned my families campaign on improving emergency stroke care. As @RealStephenKerr said, the campaign’s victory will be the implementation of a comprehensive 24/7 thrombectomy service in Scotland.

Então veio a COVID. O mundo inteiro enlouqueceu. Não me entendam mal. Eu não me esqueci disso. Obrigado, Brasil. TMJ! 🇧🇷❤️

Look at this, stashed away on page 118 of the budget... The Government is implementing visa salary requirement changes from spring 2027 that will reduce 'occupation-specific minimum salary thresholds from the median to the 25th percentile of wages'. In short, making it FAR easier for firms to hire migrants. Why are they lowering barriers to overseas workers instead of training British men and women? British people do not want more immigration. At all.

This anguished message is particularly acute for 🇪🇦 but from Australia to Ireland, the spectre of Third Worldisation stalks many other places.

Honoured to have my book in such esteemed company. If you're thinking of getting a copy of my book "75 Brexit Benefits", then you could get a copy from Oldspeak and support Jo (who is a wonderful and lovely person).

Some of the 'Brexit benefits' in today's Budget... 1⃣ strong commitment to 'Buy British' (hard to square this with EU procurement rules) 2⃣ additional funding for 'PuFIns', such as the British Business Bank (hard to square with EU rules on state aid) 3⃣ more cuts in UK tariffs on imports of food, drink and energy (not possible if the UK were still a member of the EU, or even a customs union)...

"UK announces further tariff suspensions on food, drink and fuel" Not a big deal in the wider scheme of things but also, of course, not possible if the UK were still in the EU, or even just a customs union... 👇 gov.uk/government/news/every…

Alongside @afneil nobody explains economics better than the brilliant @LiamHalligan He’s a busy man, newly appointed to run the Centre for Policy Studies, so very chuffed to see him embarking on a collaboration with Outpost. Here are his thoughts ahead of tomorrow’s Budget.

Halloween artificial cobweb material: It may be a bit of fake fun for you, but it's a very real and terrifying death for them. And it's not only birds. Last year I had my first call of the season of a hedgehog trapped in this horrific fake 'cobweb', made especially for gullible halloweeners to spread over their greenery, trapping all unsuspecting birds, insects and mammals, including hedgehogs. The fine synthetic fibers are difficult for animals to see and can quickly wrap around their legs, spines, and neck, leading to severe injuries. When a hedgehog struggles to free herself the web tightens, cutting off circulation and causing deep wounds. These constriction injuries often lead to permanent damage or death. Unfortunately the call was from Manchester, so all I could do was talk them through getting the poor creature to a rescue. Clearly she had been trapped there for at least one night, and her struggles had pulled the strong nylon strands so tightly that one of her toes had been amputated. Can you imagine the pain and the sheer terror? And then seeing dawn approach, while hanging there, tightly bound and helpless. Aside from being stressed, dehydrated, starving and exhausted to the point of near death, she also had horrific bite/peck wounds to her face, where she had been held there, helpless, unable to curl and defend herself, while a predator tried to eat her alive. If you have used this deadly cruel trap to 'decorate' your garden, please take it down now. Please don't be conned by the greedy makers and sellers of this rubbish into hurting defenceless animals.

Well done to the Chancellor for taking advantage of being outside the EU by cutting tariffs on food. (Pity his boss wants to talk about joining the EU customs union again.)

Be careful with all this talk of ‘tell them again’. It’s simply a ruse. We told them. We don’t have to tell them again. There is no requirement to rerun the referendum and if you think another under a Labour government wouldn’t be rigged I’ve got some snake oil to sell you.
Let’s tell them again Brexit 2 won’t even be close The Rejoiners and their useful idiots in power are lying to you

Almost everything Burnham says in this piece is a lie. - We didn't get a "harder" Brexit than what was mentioned in the Referendum. We left with the most comprehensive trade agreement the EU has ever signed. - The small boats crisis didn't emerge because of losing "returns agreements". While we were in the EU we were a net-, recipient of illegal immigrants from these agreements, the small boats crisis has emerged because of a global surge in illegal immigration and pull-factors like our human rights laws. - Immigration within the EU was not "revolving door". It has been permanent, and significantly more than estimated at the time. Over 6 million people have come here on the EU Settlement scheme, double estimated. The Prime Minister is dishonest and cynical, planning to hand border control to the EU, and likely pay them British taxpayers money while he's at it. – at Merton, London
