It is now three years since Shabana FC returned to the Kenya Premier League after spending 17 years outside the top tier.
Since then, the club’s progress has become a topic of discussion in the streets, with many fans and football followers acknowledging the positive steps being made both on and off the pitch.
One of the developments is Shabana FC’s partnership with Oasis Health Hospitals.
Oasis provides medical cover worth about KSh 8.8 million annually for the players and technical bench.
Shabana players today can access to comprehensive healthcare, emergency treatment, ambulance support, medical supervision and nutrition services.
According to our records, Shabana FC became the first SportPesa Premier League club to secure medical cover of this nature for its players.

Shabana FC is one of the fastest-growing football clubs in Kenya, thanks to the good leadership of its top management, branch officials and the support of other stakeholders.
Some years back, Shabana FC could only attract fewer than 50 fans whenever the team played. Today, the story is completely different. The club has gained massive support, especially from the Kisii community, and continues to attract thousands of passionate fans.
Many people may not have realised that supporting Shabana FC goes beyond football. The club's growth creates many economic opportunities for young people and small-scale traders. During match days, people earn a living through selling merchandise, food and other products, while the matatu and boda boda sectors also benefit from increased business.
As the club continues to grow, more people are beginning to recognise the opportunities associated with it. Unfortunately, this growth also comes with challenges. For instance, some individuals are investing heavily in producing counterfeit jerseys to compete with the club's official merchandise, instead of supporting the sale of original Shabana FC jerseys.
Today some of our fans are discussing about online E-ticketing. Back in 2022 and the years before, we rarely saw discussions about E-ticketing on social media because small number of fans attended Shabana FC's home and away matches. Today, with the club's growing fan base, some people have identified E-ticketing as a business and investment opportunity.
We always encourage our young people who have innovative ideas that can help the club to come forward professionally. Instead of resorting to blackmail, unnecessary accusations and negative social media campaigns, why not prepare proposal and present it to the top management or branch officials?
If you have developed an online E-ticketing system, explain how it works, the institutions in Kenya where it has been implemented, the results achieved and the challenges encountered. Demonstrate how your system can benefit Shabana FC and its supporters.
Even major companies such as Safaricom, Stephen Kiama Pilipili company must demonstrate their experience, previous projects, achievements and the challenges they have addressed when competing for tenders. Having a good idea is important, but presenting it professionally and demonstrating its value is equally important.
Kenya has many talented young people with the skills .My appeal to our young people is simple: Let us turn our skills and creativity into solutions that can move Shabana FC forward. Take time to develop your ideas, prepare professional proposals and submit them to the relevant institutions. Give the management an opportunity to evaluate what you are offering.
Shabana FC is growing, and its growth should create opportunities for everyone. Instead of fighting over opportunities, let us work together to build the club and benefit from its success.

Shabana FC has a unique fan base that has grown with the club over the years. Many of these loyal supporters were once students in schools around Kisii township, and their passion for the team started at a very young age.
Back in the 1990s, whenever Shabana FC held training sessions at Gusii Stadium, one would easily mistake it for a match day. Fans would turn up in large numbers just to watch the team train. Pupils from nearby schools such as Kisii Primary, Jogoo, Getembe, Nyamage, Nyanchwa, Nyambera, Daraja Mbili, Nyamokenye, and Nyabururu would even sneak out of school to watch the training .
In those days, getting a chance to carry players’ boots was considered a golden opportunity—it was almost a guaranteed pass into Gusii Stadium. Official gate charges were just one shilling (1 bob), but even that was not affordable for some fans like Machana and Kepha AKA Nyakundi.
To beat the system, they became creative. They identified a “panya route” around the Getacho–Nyanchwa area, which they used to sneak into

As Shabana FC, we value the views, opinions, and ideas raised by our fans. We believe that every fan has a voice, and we are always ready to listen and engage on matters concerning the club.
Some fans have questioned why Shabana FC moved from e-ticketing back to physical cash ticketing. The club has already explained the challenges it experienced with e-ticketing at Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay. We want to assure our supporters that the club is working towards introducing a simpler, more convenient, and modern ticketing system for collecting gate revenue during our home matches.
However, it is disappointing to hear suggestions that some fans intend to boycott matches simply because the club has temporarily stopped using e-ticketing. Supporting Shabana FC should go beyond disagreements over ticketing methods. Our love and commitment to the club should remain strong even as we address challenges and improve our systems.
This Saturday, Shabana FC travels to Mombasa to face Mombasa United FC at Mbaraki Stadium in a SportPesa League fixture.
Some fans are threatening to boycott the match because Shabana FC has not introduced e-ticketing. But let's understand the situation: Shabana FC is the away team. Mombasa United FC, as the home team, is responsible for managing matchday gate operations and ticket collection.
Why, then, should Shabana FC be blamed for a ticketing arrangement at a stadium where we are the visiting team?
We urge our fans to understand the circumstances, remain objective, and continue supporting the team. Constructive criticism is welcome, but boycotting the club over an issue that is not within its control does not help the team.
Let us stand together, support our boys, and keep the Shabana spirit alive wherever the team plays. Once a Shabana fan, always a Shabana fan!

SHABANA FC FANS URGED TO STAND UNITED AHEAD OF MOMBASA UNITED CLASH
Shabana FC will travel to Mombasa this Saturday, 7th November 2026, to face Mombasa United FC at the Mbaraki Stadium in a SportPesa League match scheduled to kick off at 2:00 PM.
The match will be one of the entertaining and highly competitive encounter, with both teams eager to bounce back after suffering defeats in their previous matches.
Shabana FC suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat against Kenya Police FC at Afraha Stadium, while Mombasa United FC lost 2-0 to Migori Youth FC at Awendo Green Stadium.
Shabana FC supporters are urged to remain united, stand firmly behind the team, and continue offering their unwavering support.
It is unfortunate that whenever the team loses, some supporters are quick to blame the club's top management, players, and technical bench. However, when the team wins, the popular slogan becomes "Shabana FC ni Yetu!"
Supporting a football club should not depend on whether the team wins or loses. True supporters stand with their club through both difficult and successful moments.
All Shabana FC fans are therefore encouraged to protect the good image of the club and avoid engaging in unnecessary social media exchanges that may damage its reputation. We must not give our opponents an opportunity to attack or undermine our beloved club.
The defeat against Kenya Police FC should serve as a wake-up call to our players and technical bench. It is time to reflect, correct our mistakes, regain confidence, and prepare for the challenges ahead.
We believe Shabana FC will bounce back stronger this Saturday in Mombasa and fight for victory, not only in this gam but also in the matches to come.
Let us remain united. Let us support our players. Let us protect our club's image.
