NEW STUDY: Prenatal paracetamol (TYLENOL) was associated with smaller testicular volume & lower circulating levels of steroid intermediates in infant boys.
"Prenatal paracetamol (TYLENOL) exposure may influence early reproductive development."

Date yourself with the first car you ever drove.
No year.
No backstory.
Just the make and model.
We'll know exactly what generation raised you.

Ironically, almost to the same day 14 years ago, Microsoft introduced the Surface RT with Windows and capacitive touch.
Some of my favorite Apple exec quotes against touch on Macs:
Tim Cook, CEO, 2012:
•April earnings call, asked about tablet and PC convergence: "you can converge a toaster and a refrigerator," but the tradeoffs leave a product nobody likes.
•To the WSJ, on a touch iMac: "this kind of reach for me isn't a terribly intuitive thing." He wouldn't discuss touch notebooks, calling that a roadmap question.
•October call, on Microsoft's Surface: you could design "a car that flies and floats," but it wouldn't do those things well.
•Craig Federighi, SVP Software Engineering, Jan. 2014 (Macworld): He said it's easy to "slap a touchscreen on a piece of hardware," then asked whether that's a good experience. "We believe, no."
•Federighi, Oct. 2014 (CNET): "We don't think it's the right interface, honestly." He said constantly reaching forward from a desk to touch the screen is uncomfortable. Apple was "not all that interested in building one."
•Jony Ive, Chief Design Officer, Oct. 2016 (CNET): Apple ruled out a touchscreen Mac years earlier because "it wasn't particularly useful or an appropriate application of multitouch."
•Phil Schiller, SVP Worldwide Marketing, Oct. and Nov. 2016 (Touch Bar launch):
◦To CNET: engineering was better spent on the "best keyboard-trackpad experience possible."
◦To The Independent: Apple had looked at it, and "it's a bad experience."
◦To Backchannel: a touch desktop would "become absurd." "You can't optimize for both. It's the lowest common denominator thinking."
•Federighi, Oct. 2016 (CNET): Apple had working prototypes years earlier. But grafting touch onto a system built around a precise pointer "really compromises the experience."
•Federighi, June 2018 (Wired): He said he's "not into touchscreens." He said lifting your arm to poke at a screen is "a pretty fatiguing thing to do."
Good to see Apple changed their mind.

RIP Patrick Stewart. What an actor. I still can’t believe he agreed to do this scene. And he didn’t even mind when I ruined every take. Legend.

Playing GTA V on iPhone Duo. This is insane!
Max graphics settings, near native resolution, and the A20 Pro is pushing around 40-60 FPS.
The adaptive touch controls are surprisingly comfortable, too. Much easier than the Android emulators I’ve tried, where I really needed a physical controller to enjoy playing.
This is Five Star Port, a free, fan-made project that runs GTA V locally on iPhone, iPad and Mac using your own game files. Story mode and free roam. No cloud streaming.
Battery drain works out to roughly 15% per 30 minutes based on my testing so far. Duo definitely gets hot, but cools down quickly once I stop playing.
GTA V on a thin foldable iPhone. We’ve come a long way. Wow.

I am speechless. Thomas Aquinas College just dropped a study on the rigor of the new SAT.
It compares the 1980/87 test with 2026. The findings should terrify every parent and teacher...
Vocabulary has collapsed.
Old SAT: 70.6% of questions tested vocab.
New SAT: 15%.
The old test forced students to know a wide range of words through analogies, antonyms, and sentence completions. The new test abandoned that. Most vocab questions now just ask students to fill in one blank from context.
Reading passages also got radically shorter (average ~97 words vs 300–340).
The new test uses short expository passages and hands you the necessary background knowledge inside the text. The older tests leaned much more heavily on argumentative and persuasive writing, assumed far more historical, scientific, and cultural knowledge, and penalized students who lacked it.
This is a redefinition of what "college readiness" means.
If you believe that kids should develop rigorous vocabulary, be capable of sustained reading, and possess background knowledge, I have bad news for you. The SAT no longer measures these.
If you want a future where children can actually read difficult texts and construct complex arguments, the SAT must be replaced now.
This cannot go on.
We were concerned that the SAT has become a less reliable measure of student preparedness for a rigorous college curriculum.
So, we commissioned a study from Johns Hopkins University. What does this study tell us about the state of higher education?
The results are shocking. thaq.co/4iLThZ0

I’m proud to have the most talented, hardest-working cabinet in Virginia’s history. They are also the most diverse cabinet Virginia has ever seen.
Every single one of our cabinet secretaries were selected because they’re the best of the best in their respective fields. They also bring invaluable perspectives from across the Commonwealth — from Danville, Hampton Roads, Richmond, NOVA, and more.
I’m grateful to get to work with these incredibly dedicated, hard-working, and talented cabinet officials to serve the Commonwealth of Virginia.

My side's only message is, "He's Muslim." We don't turnout voters with that. If Democrats don't go completely crazy, 2028 is theirs. However still too soon to tell. That's why I find the conversation boring. Total waste of time to speculate.
