A picture from rural Nebraska...a place where Ricketts, Pillen and all the rest of the MAGA Republicans did NOTHING to help stop Tysons from closing a plant. And have done nothing to bring jobs back to repurpose that plant. The community is resilient and deserves better leaders.

from the Ukrainian winner of the Nobel peace prize
I have read dozens of outraged posts because the US special envoy Witkoff called Putin a "humanist." But no one is writing about the fact that the American negotiators are simply not doing their job. Let me explain.
Peace negotiations are important in their own right. Even if they do not lead to a lasting peace, the process itself is an opportunity to resolve urgent humanitarian issues. If, of course, the human dimension is a priority for the negotiators. But it is entirely obvious that neither Witkoff nor Kushner cares about people's fates in this war.
The Pope calls on Putin to save thousands of people from starvation in occupied Oleshky and the surrounding villages. The UN speaks about a humanitarian catastrophe and asks Russia to allow the evacuation of the civilian population. European Parliament Vice-President Pina Picierno goes on a hunger strike to draw attention to this tragedy unfolding before the eyes of the whole world.
And what are Witkoff and Kushner doing?
That's right, almost nothing.
Except for passing along greetings from Putin’s aide to the First Lady.
Thousands of people are already eating grass to survive and begging to save their lives. The Ukrainian side raises the issue of Oleshky at every meeting. And I can name dozens of such urgent humanitarian issues off the top of my head where American negotiators must be proactive.
Trump’s peace negotiations have already gone down in history as the deadliest years for Ukraine’s civilian population since the start of the full-scale invasion.
I don’t know if anyone will remember the names of Witkoff and Kushner.
But history will certainly record how American negotiators, who had the opportunity to save a huge number of people, refused to raise uncomfortable questions before "humanist Putin."
There is a lot going on right now but strongly encourage you to watch this interview with our next Chairman of House Armed Services Committee, @RepAdamSmith, and how he is going to approach fixing all that Trump has broken in the past two years.
"Trump Is Full Putin" - A new discussion with @RepAdamSmith
"That's what I tried to tell my Republican colleagues on the call here. Don't think of this as some tactical error. This is a strategic plan to back Putin over Zelenskyy."
Putin keeps punking and pantsing and wind-mill dunking on Trump, our titanically traitorous, corrupt, and idiotic leader.

It appears the Russian Storm-1516 narrative laundering campaign has finally come for the U.S. midterms.
Yesterday they placed a false story on X saying James Talarico sexually assaulted one of his students in 2012.
This follows the Russian playbook. Let me show you how.

So with faking and manipulating polls in the news again can we talk about this huge campaign by the Rs that has now thrown 73 polls into the Senate battlegrounds in the last 6 weeks? We think this is all on the up and up? 1/
In this post and discussion with data guy @tbonier we do an overview of how the Rs and greater MAGA have manipulated polls (and betting markets) to create a perception of strength for their candidates and weakness for ours. 2/

WOW!! Yesterday, the Trump Admin said they had high confidence in the 20,000 names on their list.
Today, it comes out that 38.9% of the 200 sampled names (from the 20,000 batch) indicated they were BORN in the United States!!
⬇️ This shocking admission from yesterday seems to have been proven true far quicker than the Trump DOJ thought — embarrassing!
WOW. Trump’s #2 at DOJ just admitted this:
“There may be some names on there who it turns out ultimately are citizens. We’re not perfect.”
I hope Vivek loses by 10 points. What a complete POS he is.
