I have other news .. @StephenScoffham & I have hatched a plan to record a little promo for the book for social media including er TikTok. We’ve done our research, spoken to the grandchildren for advice & hope to film very soon! Prepare to be amazed & / or hysterically amused. 🤪
We're thrilled that as well as stronger focus on mapwork, we have included new material on climate change, migration and colonialism. #nationalcurriculumgeography

@StephenScoffham talking of geography in Politics #CharneyConf24
I'll be exploring the theme of geography and local politics at 9am this Saturday at the Geographical Association Annual conference @EYPPC_GA @fstonehythedc @ShepwayGreens .
Looking forward to the Geographical Association Annual Conference which starts tomorrow #Geography #education. There are some great sessions and the theme 'Geography for All' is a winner. Steve Rawlinson and myself will be talking about geography and sustainability on Friday.

Last night, in line with COP 28, we launched our book at Canterbury Christ Church. Jonathan Barnes (left) and Alan Bainbridge (right). Today all teachers need to be confident to teach about sustainability. @JonathanBarnes @geosteve7 @EYPPC_GA

Thanks so much for associating these two books around the word hope. This - plus love for places and love for people is exactly what Stephen and I have worked for all our education lives – at South East, England

So Tories & (most of) Labour chose not to support #ceasefire, 125-293. We had chance to stand on right side of history - to move to political solution, stop the killing, free the hostages. MPs didn’t take it. So many voices in & outside parliament urging peace - we won’t give up
Delighted that Steve Rawlinson and myself have been invited to speak in the Ukrainian pavilion at COP 28 about sustainability education, citizenship, democracy and peace. This theme is often overlooked but was articulated in the Earth Charter over 20 years ago .
Yes, the humanities really do matter. Indeed they have an essential role in shaping the future as these blogs explain

A very sad loss. John was such an inspiration to us all.
The EY and Primary geography community are sad to announce the passing of our great friend, and
