She did nothing wrong. She's an actress, acting.
amanda seyfried portraying holmes like this and then asserting that she did nothing wrong is so tea

What's wild is that Lurie is by far the best owner in Eagles history and absolutely deserves enshrinement in the team's Hall of Fame. This is also the worst possible timing.
I'm sure if the Eagles are down at halftime everyone will put aside their feelings about the team's performance to be respectful of Jeffrey Lurie's enshrinement into the franchise's hall of fame.

I have a lot of criticisms of Israel's recent actions but no, Israel is not the reason why eggs cost so much, and no, American taxpayers do not underwrite Israelis' health care.

Also, "the price of eggs" was a 2024 inflation talking point, and they've gone way down! Other things are super-expensive now, but not eggs

Nobody's really mad that Obama said that about Cheesecake Factory. I mean, be serious, people.

Also, wasn't there a discussion about six months ago about women complaining that their dates were taking them to the Cheesecake Factory because it wasn't fancy enough?

The point of the joke was clearly "Cheesecake Factory has gaudy decorations that look like Trump's White House decorations," not to cast aspersions on the restaurant or people who eat there

I am all for a portion of the profits from the movie going to the people Holmes defrauded
Spoiler: Loved You Can See Everything. But I'd like to see discussion, as I've been having privately with friends, about all the bros (Fielder, Oppenheim, A24) balking at Elizabeth Holmes potentially profiting from her story, meanwhile Fielder, another subject of the doc, does.

A documentary from a few years ago called SUBJECT explored these questions. I don't think they have easy answers... subject.film/

I reviewed five movies from #PFF35- BUNKER, JOY WILL PREVAIL, TENDER LOVING CARE, INK, and VICTORIAN PSYCHO stephensilver.substack.com/p… @philafcc @OFCS @CriticsChoice

I think a lot of people are wishing for a completely different movie, one not nearly as good as the YCSE that was actually made.
when people complain that YCSE didn't sufficiently explore Elizabeth Holmes' guilt and allowed some audience members to believe she's innocent

if we had the perfect interviewer OP wanted (someone to “hold her accountable”) the film would’ve been 30 minutes long. we only got the material we did bc nathan “yes and”ed her and followed her lies to their logical conclusions
You Can See Everything… is a white people film. This is exactly correct:

Yet throughout the week, everything was somewhat overshadowed by Nathan, Elizabeth, and Billy...

I’m going to guess this has something to do with a certain other documentary of unusual length expanding on to more screens
Alex Gibney’s 4 hour long movie about Elon Musk has been pulled from theaters within two weeks of release after flopping hard

Michael has passed out of the zeitgeist by now, but i'm still intrigued by what was asked of its young star--to not just represent his uncle but become a spiritual medium for him
october’s free column is on something that’s been on my mind for a few months now: it seems like a common thread thru many of the year’s biggest (and smallest) films is that they treat performance as a spectacle no less momentous than CG explosions api.omarshehata.me/substack-…
