The more I see people discuss the Flyers and their offseason, the more I feel like I am much lower on them than most going into the season This was a team that was below Toronto and Seattle in the standings 56 games into the 82-game season

Hearing that trade talks have escalated on Larkin. Which doesn't mean it necessarily leads to a trade imminently but things have escalated. Things can still go a few different directions at the moment.
Larkin will not play tonight. McLellan says Shawn Horcoff will address the situation

“Not about points” is pretty rich coming from someone on a team that has scored an embarrassing 1.93 goals per game to in 15 games. Locker room divided in year 2 under Tocchet once again. Whomever in the front office pushed for the Tocchet hire should be shown the door with him

Flyers Head Cocah Rick Tocchet last night addressing Nick Seeler's "me, me, me" comments: "You know there's times when you should change, get your buddy on the ice when he's fresh, instead of trying for one more last rush and then changing on the way back. Things like that are I think what Nick's talking about me me, you can't do that sort of stuff." "Accountability starts from me. Going to have to take some ice time from that. Leadership is going to have to do a little bit of that too, so I think it's important that doesn't creep in your room 100% the me-me-I attitude." Yikes...I feel like we all know who Tocchet is talking about here, but brutal stuff

This quote. The captain (Coots) calling them soft. Tocchet agreeing. Is this telenovela getting picked up by Univision or what? Meanwhile, even though they can't score overall, Zegras still has 13 in 15 and Michkov has seven goals in as many games.
#Flyers defenseman Nick Seeler after the loss: "It’s just focus levels & compete levels and playing for the crest. That’s what it’s all about. It’s not about getting points. It’s not about me, me, me. It’s about the team & playing for each other & sacrificing for each other."

Most prophets were cast off in their day. Turns out us online "crazy" fans were correct. The botched rebuild, the coaching hire, the leadership core, the vision, the lack of ballsy trades... all of it. Danny holding onto perceived value is rich now that it aged like spoiled milk

It’s actually pretty funny. These guys are so obviously butting heads with the younger crew. Time to ship these guys the fuck out of here.

I am over Nick Seeler. Move him out. You were a cool story a couple years ago. You suck now. See ya!

Damn Michkov. If you took him off the ice, the Flyers would've... still lost by multiple goals.
These are things you just have to live with when playing young fwds. Defensive instincts don’t come natural to mich. He doesnt have a feel for it. He’s playing a position, not playing off the feel of it. Same with Martone (to a lesser extent) but this is not an effort issue.

Too many guys with egos who believe they're supposed to be leaders or drivers or creators. Too many guys who think it's their team, who resent the most talented player on the team for believing he's the most talented player on the team and wanting to use that talent to help.
They don’t have actual veterans. It’s all guys in their prime or just out of it. Coots at 33/34 isn’t the same as Iginla or Tanguay helping along w/ Landeskog The gap isn’t large enough in “vets” to rookies. Ironically what they actually need is a guy at the end of his career

Those Couturier and Seeler interviews after yesterday’s game against Washington..... Yeah, I’m starting to believe it wasn’t a coincidence that the Flyers played their best hockey when most of the veterans were out of the lineup.

The Flyers vets throwing shade at the younger players (Michkov, Zegras, etc.) is absolutely hilarious, especially when you look at the stat sheet and realize who's actually been leading this team The Flyers are 3-8-4, and their top 5 scorers are all under 25 years of age You need to score points/goals to win games, but apparently they're not "playing for the crest" sure ☠️

It's not even as if I can't relate this to something he does. He's a 40 point player getting top-6 minutes and he trashes his team harder than a random account on this app every time you give him a microphone after a loss. Why wouldn't that contribute to a toxic environment?
Since Couturier was named captain 2/14/24: Y1: Flyers collapse down the stretch and miss the playoffs. Y2: Team unintentionally tanks while he drops a 45P season in over 17 minutes. Y3: Team unintentionally tanks until a miracle run. Y4: team unintentionally tanks.

Flyers have only won 7 of their last 25 games, scoring 50 goals. A NHL team scoring 2.00 G/GP over that long of a stretch is embarrassing. This team has too much talent to be this inept offensively. Enough with Tocchet Hockey & bring an offensive mind in to develop talent.
