🚨ISRO RESTORES NAVIC To Minimum Operational Strength And Delivers A Direct Blow to Dependence On Foreign Gps Systems On October 30, 2026, ISRO successfully launched the NVS-03 navigation satellite aboard the GSLV-F18, placing it into its intended Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit. The mission has brought India’s indigenous Navigation with Indian Constellation (NavIC) back to its minimum operational configuration of four satellites. India originally developed NavIC as an independent regional navigation system covering the Indian mainland and extending roughly 1,500 km beyond India's geopolitical boundaries. NVS-03 strengthens this architecture with navigation signals across L1, L5 and S bands, while also carrying an indigenous atomic clock for highly precise timing. The timing of this achievement is particularly important. NavIC had been operating below the minimum satellite strength required for standalone positioning services. The satellite also brings something particularly important for civilian applications: the L1 navigation signal alongside the existing L5 and S-band signals.
