"It's timely and appropriate that the Department of Justice is going to address this issue. They gave the state the opportunity to address this issue through the state court mechanisms. They didn't." Several election-related lawsuits are heating up with midterms around the corner, including the DOJ suing Alaska over the double Dan Sullivans. @TXElectionLaw joins us to break it down TONIGHT ntd.com/ntdplus/livestream-w…

Commonplace's October issue is here -- incredible work by the editorial team producing what has already become the must-read conservative magazine. This month, the Election Issue, has: ➡️@DrewHolden360 on the sad history of undermining faith in the system, ➡️Former FEC chair Tre Trainor @TXElectionLaw and political gurus @AlexTarascio and @ddkochel on the path to restoring confidence, and ➡️@michaelbd on the ill-advised reforms to avoid. ➡️The Hoover Institution's Ben Ginsberg, national counsel to the Bush-Cheney '00 and '04 campaigns, joins the podcast to discuss what he calls the Fraud-Suppression Industrial Complex and the actual challenges with running clean elections. Features include: ➡️@AmberLappOH reporting from Springfield, Ohio ➡️@EvieSolheim reporting from the 2026 Women's Convention in Seneca Falls, New York ➡️@Jason_Mangone reporting on volunteer firefighting from Pasadena, Texas ➡️@ChrisChimy explaining the H-1B visa crackdown And there's: ➡️Gail Slater on AI and Antitrust ➡️@chris_griz on President Trump's $5,000 promise ➡️@SkylerAdleta on Gen Z's Blue-Collar Boom ➡️Brad Littlejohn on the dangers of artificial relationships ➡️and yours truly with a Midterms Exam If there's a better table of contents than @commonplc in the country this month, DM me -- I'd certainly want to read that too.

Infringing on free speech is expensive. Silencing our client Nicholas Blanchard during public comments just cost the Augusta Board of Education $50,000. Read our new press release on the fee payment in Blanchard v. Augusta Board of Education: ifs.org/news/50000-paid-in-f…

One vote in Indiana helped make Texas a state. A few thousand votes in Hays County will decide whether we still look like Texas a decade from now. Don’t skip the bottom of the ballot. County commissioners, judges, constables, and school trustees make the rules you live under long after the cameras leave. Read my piece in The Elephant Call: hayscountygop.org/uploads/ne… Vote the whole ballot. November 3 is our turn. #txlege @hayscountygop @HaysWomen

✅ Important read: Former @FEC Chairman Trey Trainor explains why election integrity MUST be non-partisan to succeed: it ultimately comes down to accounting, accurate records, and a clear-cut process that can be examined by all. @TXElectionLaw at @commonplc mag.commonplace.org/p/trey-t…

"Rather than 'trust us,' the answer should be: Here are the rules. Here are the records. Here is how the ballots were accounted for. Here is how the result was checked. Here is what happened when something did not initially reconcile. That kind of transparency does not require unlimited public access to sensitive information. It requires enough access to allow legitimate observers to understand and verify the process." @TXElectionLaw explains what it will take to build a voting process that Americans can trust.

Katie Bailey is the best in the game. I've worked with her on many tough projects and she's always a steady hand on the wheel. Fantastic choice by the President.

Running for office is a legal problem before it is a political one. Money in, money out, what you can put on a mailer, and who you are allowed to coordinate with. Most candidates learn the rules after they have already broken one. Amber Hulse [@amberhulseSD] walks through the questions worth asking an election lawyer first.

"That's where our taxes are set. That's where roads and bridges and all of the things that people care about on a daily basis take place. So it's those local elections that are severely affected by this. And for every illegal alien that votes in an election, they are defrauding the not only the United States but the voters in that particular district." A Supreme Court case could make it LEGAL to distill whiskey at home. Right now, Americans can legally brew beer and make wine at home, but distilling whiskey, gin and other spirits can expose you to a federal felony charge. An Ohio home-brewing enthusiast is challenging that 150-year-old ban, arguing the government has gone too far. Now the fight is in front of the Supreme Court. Two federal appeals courts have already disagreed over whether the government can ban home distilling, setting up a showdown that could change the rules for home whiskey making.
