Dr. Dre gave up his 50% of Death Row Records just to get away from Suge Knight. Suge kept 100% and called it “the greatest thing in the world for me.”
Dre later said in court that he didn’t get a single royalty payment from Death Row for 13 years.
In the video below, it’s September 1996, months after Dre left. Suge says the company might be worth a billion dollars, and now he owns 100% of it.
“You didn’t have to give him nothing but his walking papers. That’s great.” Then he says Dre didn’t even make “California Love.”
Dre and Suge started Death Row in 1991. Dre made the music. “The Chronic” turned the label into a giant, and then came Snoop Dogg’s debut.
By 1996, Dre wanted out. He left his half of the label and the rights to his records behind. In return, he was supposed to get royalties on the music he made there.
He started a new label, Aftermath. “I’ll be able to sell just as many records, if not more,” he said. “And you’ll see that.”
He signed Eminem. Then 50 Cent. Then Kendrick Lamar.
In 2014, Apple paid $3 billion for his headphone company, Beats.
The case for Suge: Dre signed that deal himself. Death Row kept selling without him. Tupac’s “All Eyez on Me” came out there that same year.
Death Row went bankrupt in 2006. Suge Knight is now serving 28 years in prison.
One man kept 100% of what he called a billion-dollar label. The other walked away with nothing and built something bigger.
So was walking away Dre’s smartest move, or did Suge rob him?

Hospital beds 🛌 are cleared zero rated for customs duty under HS CODE/ Tariff heading 9402.9000 as medical furniture.
They are also duty free if South Africa is country of origin under SADC/Comesa.
Value added tax (VAT ) is however applicable at 15.5% in local ZIG currency. The VAT can be removed by a government duty free certificate if the importing / recieving Hospital is registered for duty free importation as most are.
The duty free certificate must be applied for prior to consignment leaving South Africa to avoid extended border standing time (demurrage) which ranges average of USD 500.00 per day – at Harare, Zimbabwe

🚨#BREAKING: Outrage is erupting in Georgia after an HOA began fining a young family $25 PER DAY for GROWING VEGETABLES in their own yard to FEED THEIR KIDS...
...the family is now being charged $750 because the HOA said the vegetables were "unsightly" and they refused to remove them
Yes, they planted peppers in their OWN FRONT YARD and their HOA is charging $25/day until it’s gone.
Their names are Alex Duarte and Shawn Richardson, and they live in Acworth, Georgia.
They grow peppers, tomatoes, habaneros, and herbs in trough gardens out front because in Alex's words,
“We don’t have a lot of money. The economy’s really tight right now.”
In June, the HOA’s community manager sent a notice telling them to remove the garden.
So Alex Duarte asked what she could do.
She offered to paint the beds ANY COLOR the board chose.
She offered a wood surround.
A brick surround.
A rock surround.
Anything to keep her garden.
At an appeal meeting she recorded, the board said it had gotten FOUR complaints of "unsightly yard".
So Alex asked them to define what was unsightly so they could reach a resolution.
The answer: it’s not aesthetically pleasing.
What about it?
“All of it. It's all got to go."
...then on September 28th, the fines started.
$25 a day.
By a week before Halloween, the balance was approaching $750.
So the family filed a complaint with the Secretary of State... but the meter keeps running.
They can’t even put a sign in their yard.
So they put up a Halloween tombstone for their garden instead.
Alex’s words: “I don’t wanna lose one of the ways I feed my family because three people decided that they didn’t like my yard.”
