I welcome the move by pharmaceutical companies to cut the MRPs of anti-cancer medicines. Revised price lists are now being notified, with some drugs becoming cheaper by nearly 70% from November 9.
A bevacizumab 400 mg injection comes down from ₹42,000 to ₹13,136. One cycle of palbociclib drops from ₹9,787 to ₹3,147. Many patients who took loans or mortgaged their property to pay for treatment will now carry a lighter burden.
I urge every pharma company to complete this process quickly and transparently. Stockists, chemists and hospitals must pass on the full benefit to patients in need at the earliest.

That private hospital authorities had serious altercation with me as I bought just Albumin IV from a wholesaler, in house hospital chemist charged 6000₹ per vial, I got it from outside at less than 3000₹.
Health and education sectors must be with the government only but since sarkari hospitals and sarkari schools never could build enough trust, citizens are left vulnerable to profiteering vultures.
An information which may be very disturbing to everyone. A medical distributor of a particular injection which is used in chemotherapy, his wife was suffering from cancer. She was taking treatment in a very renowned hospital. We will not take the name of the hospital. So the dealer requested the hospital authorities, sir I am myself a dealer and to me the injection comes at Rs. 11,000 dealer price. The hospital refused to administer that injection and charged Rs. 1,30,000 for that injection. Can you show any justification for this loot, please? Why this difference? Where does the money go?
