US Billionaires Compete for 'Most Awful Human Being' Award | If these horrible billionaires control everything we see and hear in the media and on social media, they won’t have to spend a penny on elections to keep their candidates in power. commondreams.org/opinion/are…

“WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH!!
These are not unreasonable demands.
These are basic human rights.
We won’t stop until we feel safe at work and ABM gives us the respect we deserve.
Because if we don’t get it…SHUT IT DOWN.”

ALT CLT AIRPORT WORKERS STAND UP! Last week, airport service workers contracted to work at Charlotte Douglas International Airport went on strike! We are outraged and are demanding that management start taking our concerns about safety, harassment, verbal abuse and intimation seriously. We are demanding clear and accurate information regarding paid leave. No more chronic errors, unanswered questions, being mistreated or intimidated by management!

Skydance, TikTok, X, Oracle, and SpaceX - that’s not an entertainment company. It’s a surveillance apparatus to control distribution.
Businesses produce, but empires are built by controlling infrastructure.
What we all knew was coming has finally begun

We need a RICO act for corporate crime. Dollar General routinely overcharges customers. In NY, it's paying $1.9M after it failed 43% of price inspections & overcharged on 14% of items. Many states have found the same. But it keeps happening, because the fines are too small.

As ICE is roaming the streets and fields of CA's Central Valley, UFW staff is out talking to workers and sharing know your rights info including these "red cards." We're also watching for ICE activity on rural roads and sharing guidance with both union and non-union farm workers.

This is how you rig the system.
A handful of people are pouring BILLIONS into our elections to buy influence and protect their power.
But here’s what they can’t buy: our votes.
They’ve got money. We’ve got people.
So let’s show up. ✊🏿
TOMORROW, SEIU members across the country will be fighting for #MoneyPowerRespect. We're getting out the vote and demanding corporations out of politics. Join us in a town near you!

Today we learned USA Today has rejected our request for voluntarily recognition of the Arizona Daily Star's union. Though we were hopeful, we're not surprised by management's response. 🧵

When one delivery driver became so sick he was throwing up, his DSP asked if he could still finish his route.
Many last mile delivery companies don't employ their own drivers, but depend on third-party contractors and Delivery Service Partners.
When drivers have tried to unionize in response to unfair conditions, companies like Amazon have refused to come to the table because the drivers are not technically their employees.
As one driver put it: "Amazon treats us like we're a situationship, yet they expect marriage level commitment from us."

Just since July, 20 more counties in IN have passed restrictions on data centers.
That's astonishing progress, and proof that people absolutely can claw power back from Big Tech!
TODAY IS INTERNATIONAL CAPS LOCK DAY AND WE ARE NOT APOLOGIZING FOR BEING LOUD! 📢✊

Billionaires are so unaccustomed to being held accountable for their actions, that they treat accountability as persecution.
Billionaires shouldn’t exist.

BioWare’s 31-year RPG legacy has been wiped out overnight. EA executed a $55 billion buyout, then fired 400 workers.
The corporate playbook never changes: massive paydays for executives at the top, the axe for the people who actually built the products.

The Amazon driver who is forced to drive in extreme heat, starts vomiting, and is told to keep driving.
The Amazon driver who cuts his leg open, is told to keep going, goes to the hospital instead, and gets fired for it.
The driver who is attacked by a mentally ill man *while delivering packages,* goes to the hospital, stays home on doctors orders, and is docked pay for the days she's recovering.
The driver who is sent out with broken doors, a broken transmission, and has to keep going.
The driver who is sent out with a side mirror held together with tape, and is told "go buy tape, tape it again, and keep driving."
The same driver who is sent out with no reverse camera, in the summer with kids out of school who's told "just don't go in reverse."
The drivers sent out to drive in New York City with zero training.
...and Amazon takes zero responsibility for all of it.
There's a bill in the New York City council right now, today, that fixes all of this. The Delivery Protection Act has the support of the Mayor and a supermajority of the council. One powerful democrat, @SpeakerMenin, just needs to move it forward. NYC can make history, protect workers, protect people on the street, and check this lawlessness. Or it can leave these drivers hanging out to dry.
Not only does @amazon consistently lead the warehouse industry in workplace injuries, with injury rates roughly double the national average, and ranks among the top corporations that forces its workers to utilize Medicaid and food stamps due to poverty wages, Amazon is also now using AI to track workers and rank how likely they are to form unions. seiu.co/3Ub5soY
