I love my wife, but if you accept the label of “wife guy” online, a Mesopotamian wind demon is summoned that causes you to abandon your career and family for the dumbest reasons imaginable.

Let's do New York while we're at it. and Virginia? Can't have a state named after a queen. Call it America. Louisiana? Get that French out of here. America. We have two oceans. Why are they not American Ocean A and American Ocean B? Heck, just name everything America
BREAKING: President Trump calls for New Mexico to immediately be renamed to “New America.”

Two things can be true at once, and I think the argument is because of people confusing the two. 1. AI has no creative taste and makes slop when asked 2. AI can do incredibly tedious work to make awesome things possible For a really simple example: having AI write a novel would be terrible. AI translating a novel to a different language with human oversight is much less terrible. Wish people would stop confusing the two

Some reflections on AI in math. I found it helpful to simply list out the various parts of what a mathematician does, why math is valuable, and where the funding comes from. From there, what happens if AI gets more capable? youtu.be/LKrwhjOI8Nc

RuneScape Reignited, a new game mode designed for both old and seasoned players to start fresh, has been canceled less than two weeks after it was first announced. bit.ly/3WsZgJy

its kinda funny they bring up EoC as an example of why they should always listen to feedback, given that they never removed EoC lol

Rich people dont need or deserve free things especially when they have enough money to buy them all normally without issue

What about FLYING SQUIDS!? 🦑💙 They can propel themselves out of the water and glide for 30 METRES at a time to avoid predation from BOOBIES! 🤯 One of the coolest animals ever! Photo by Anthony Pierce
The thing I love about nature is that you learn about something new EVERYDAY! Like this 1cm long Japanese Pygmy Seahorse! 🤯😍 Photographed by Graham Short who was the lead author in its species description in 2018! ⭐️

You are not alone, brother. Solifuge chelicerae also look like shrew skulls.
I can't be the only one who thinks these lobster claws look like some kind of mustelid skull, right?

This, from Anthropic's new "Usage Policy" seems insane to me. How can you be "cruel" towards a computer program? Are you "cruel" to Super Mario Bros. 3 if you make Mario die a hundred times? Have these AI weirdos convinced themselves their chatbots have feelings?
