When we train triple ext we utilize Oly lifts & their derivatives & squat jump variations. We don’t make any athletes learn the catches unless they want to. Many of our athletes are w/ me 4-6 years & decide they want to. Some of our athletes are just learning catches 7 months in – at Traverse City, MI

A reminder to those who continue to confuse these two concepts. Relative age and maturity are not the same thing.

In Mahomes' rookie season, the average 40 yard dash time for 1st round linebackers and edge rushers was 4.72s. In the last draft it was 4.51s. #SpeedIsTheTide

The best college football prospects are the high school kids who already act like mature college players. They do what they have to do. They get their work done. They work hard. They're coachable. They're great students and great teammates. "Champions behave like champions before they're champions." - Bill Walsh

In very simple terms, conjugate is about maintaining fitness year round by the maintenance and development of all relevant qualities. You don't let relevant qualities of strength, speed, or capacity atrophy through neglect like other periodization models.

If your high school football season ends in November and your first thought is to attend 15 camps next summer, you’re already skipping steps. Before spending money on exposure, figure out what level of college football you can realistically play.

I was watching a high school game with a coach from a P4 school. He was recruiting a great receiver. The QB threw a pick and the receiver didn’t even try to make a tackle. He jogged a few steps then stopped. The P4 coach said, “that’s all I need to see.” Don’t let a lack of effort get you taken off the board.

By the time most athletes get to high school, their elasticity is severely underdeveloped. They simply don’t accumulate enough quality contacts in early development to have the prerequisite structure and neural command to efficiently strike the ground. Get your kids bouncing.

If you’re not incorporating hill sprints into your training, you’re missing out on one of the simplest and most effective tools for developing acceleration. 1) A 8 week study found that uphill sprint training improved 30m sprint speed, repeated sprint performance, and jumping

Girls need to view the weight room as something to get them strong and keep them HEALTHY. Not something that will make them “bulky” I believe that starts with the hs/club/private coaches When they become confident there you will see it in all aspects of life

Google what percentage of D1 verbal HS commits never make it to campus or get cut in the fall of their freshman year. That data is without 5 for 5 data. That’s just happening to 27s now. It’s mind blowing. Hint it’s 45-55% and growing with 5 for 5 to 60-70%. Choose wisely.

The first 90% of what I program is 90% the same regardless of sport. They all need to sprint, jump, lift fast, and lift heavy. The final couple minutes is what makes it “sport specific.” But baseball ends the day with grip work, football gets neck work and hand fighting, etc.
