Speaking at the @unacc_ug Side Event during the Renewable Energy Conference & EXPO 2026 organised by @NREP_Uganda and @MEMD_Uganda The Managing Director of UECCC @rbaguma608 highlighted the growing impact of the Electricity Access Scaleup Project (EASP), which has enabled 288,909 households to access clean cooking solutions since November 2024, benefiting over 1.3 million Ugandans and refugees while avoiding an estimated 0.7 million tonnes of COβ emissions annually.
He noted that while this progress is encouraging, achieving Uganda's clean cooking ambitions will require stronger partnerships, greater collaboration, and sustained action from all stakeholders.
He emphasized that access to clean cooking is not only about technology and financing, but also about investing in consumer awareness, education, and behaviour change to help communities experience the benefits of modern cooking solutions firsthand.

A team from UECCC led by Director Transaction Execution, @bukenyadaniel an engagement with the Management team of @TropicalBankUG on Friday 18th September 2026 with the aim of establishing a mutually beneficial working relationship. The meeting dwelt on the prospect of UECCC providing a line of financing to Renewable Energy enterprises under the bank.
This comes as UECCC continues to expand its network of partners with the aim of providing access to finance for clean energy in Uganda, and in this case, with untapped institutions and households under Tropical Bank.
Through the Credit Support Facility (CSF) under the #EASP Financial Intermediation Component, UECCC provides concessional lines of credit to participating financial institutions to finance the acquisition of institutional clean cooking solutions. The facility also supports manufacturers and suppliers through working capital financing.
This reflects UECCCβs catalytic financing approach: using limited public resources to bring in private-sector capital and unlock greater investment in #cleanenergy.

UGAFODE Microfinance has taken another important step towards expanding access to affordable and sustainable energy solutions through the rollout of our Green Energy Loan Product, in partnership with the Uganda Energy Credit Capitalisation Company (UECCC). @UECCC1
As part of the rollout, UGAFODE held an orientation session with the UECCC team, bringing together Heads of Functions and other key team members to strengthen understanding of the partnership and build institutional readiness for the successful implementation of the Green Energy Loan.
The partnership aims to enhance access to financing for renewable and clean energy solutions, supporting households, businesses, farmer groups and enterprises to invest in energy solutions that can improve productivity, strengthen livelihoods and contribute to sustainable economic development.
Through the Green Energy Loan, eligible customers will be able to access financing for solutions such as solar home systems, solar-powered productive equipment, solar irrigation systems, energy-efficient technologies and clean cooking solutions, among other approved renewable energy technologies.
Access to clean and renewable energy can help reduce energy costs, improve productivity, strengthen business operations, and support climate resilience, while enabling households and enterprises to make more sustainable energy choices.
This initiative further advances UGAFODEβs commitment to financial inclusion, environmental sustainability and responsible financing, while supporting the productive use of energy for business growth, job creation, and improved livelihoods.
@UECCC1 extends its heartfelt condolences to the people of Tooro Kingdom and all Ugandans upon the passing of His Majesty the Omukama of Tooro. We join the nation in mourning this great loss and honor his legacy of leadership, service, and dedication to his people. May His Soul Rest In Eternal Peace.

This year, @ICOYACA marks 5years since its founding, championing the voice of young Africans in advancing the AfCFTA.
While in Kigali for the 20th AFS Forum 2026, I sat down with @Emolot_AD to understand the critical nexus between youth, agriculture and continental trade.
Our conversation comes at a defining moment, following the launch of the Youth in Trade Charter and the unveiling of the African Agripreneur Magazine, two initiatives developed with the support of @AGRA_Africa to ensure young Africans are not only represented in policy conversations but are equipped to seize the opportunities created by AfCFTA.
How effective is adaptation finance in building climate resilience across Africa?
Join @ocanya_s Project Manager, Electricity Access Scaleup Project (EASP), as he represents @UECCC1 on a panel discussing "Does Adaptation Finance Build Climate Resilience? Evidence from the Green Climate Fund in Africa."
UECCC is proud to partner with @OfficialMubs Climate Finance and Sustainability Centre (CFSC) and the Uganda Institute of Banking and Financial Services (UIBFS) as a sponsor of the 3rd Annual Africa Climate Finance Conference (Marriott Hotel, Nsambya-1st to 2nd September 2026), bringing together leaders driving sustainable climate action.
