Going to re-thread this on the DNC hack and it's going to be long but important. In 2022 @ProfMJCleveland and I peppered @GeorgiaTech with Open Records requests, and obtained indications that Clinton-connected researchers tied to the Alfa Bank hoax were more involved than known 1/x

I really like Rubio, but he doesn't have the record that DeSantis does. A DeSantis-Rubio ticket would be optimal.

It's a shame we couldn't get answers to this in a second Trump administration. It's not like they accomplished anything else.

2028 is critical, not just to protect the Supreme Court, but because of the Census. We need to put forward the best candidate for the general election.

Ron DeSantis responded to a question from Sean Hannity on whether he will run for President in 2028, said he would have gotten “like 90%” in Iowa in 2024 if Trump had not run. He’s running, baby. Last night just sealed the deal.

🚨 HOLY SMOKES. Gov. Ron DeSantis just BLEW UP and went on an America first RAMPAGE on national TV "I saw NO INDICATION that Republican senators were interested in doing conservative change! WHY haven't we done immigration, SHUT OFF H1B visas?! WHY haven't we CODIFIED Trump's immigration executive orders?! Why haven't we STRIPPED jurisdiction from the federal courts over deportation cases?! There's SO MANY THINGS we COULD HAVE DONE." "THEY DIDN'T EVEN ATTEMPT IT." "They say, 'oh, if only we needed 50 votes we would've done it!' YOU DON'T HAVE 50 VOTES. You NEVER SHOWED you'd do conservative things, even with 50 votes! [RE: filibuster]...I NEVER saw an indication that they'd do it." "This midterm was a rebuke of the president and Congress...BUT, a LOT of our voters stayed home because they were FRUSTRATED with the LACK of productivity from Republicans in the House and Senate." A fire was just lit under this man. Honestly have not seen him get that fired up in a LONG time We definitely deserved better from our Senate. Now, we need to repair and win in 2028, or Democrats are destroying America!

Hegseth has been a bright spot in this administration and firing the guy for enthusiastically and precisely doing exactly what you asked him to do would be a low move. You asked the guy to strike Iran without committing any ground forces and with no meaningful plan in place for some type of regime change. The military did a very good job of destroying Iranian ground targets and killing Iranian leadership with precision and broad overall success. Relative to GWOT, our losses here have been minimal and our military worked around the clock in hostile and contested environments without any major fault or scandal. Hegseth continues to be the right guy to lead the DoD (DoW), without question. You asked him and the military to strike Iran, and that's exactly what you got. The fact that this was an unpopular decision is not Hegseth's fault. The military did their part; that's Hegseth's side of it. Own up to the bad decision, don't blame your people for it, especially the ones who have been steadfast and loyal and high-performing.
BREAKING: President Trump has been asking advisers if he should fire US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth following the Republicans' loss in the Midterms, per CBS News. Some White House aides have reportedly said the blame for the loss will be placed on Head of US Central Command, Brad Cooper, and General Dan Caine. JD Vance has blamed the Iran War for the election loss.

Replying to @brithume
> Nobody from the Administration really made the case to the American public for immediate action in Iran. > We waited too long (let them kill tens of thousands of the people most likely to seize the levers of power) > We failed to engage with decisive strength (which likely requires kinetic options far beyond the public’s comfort, so don’t play at all unless you’re willing to win) > We let it stretch out with no clear path to a true “Mission Accomplished” > We did this while the pocket books of American families were tapped out Americans would have supported the narrowly constrained and well-justified action had it been approached and executed differently. This has not been it.

Brad Cooper has been fantastic. You order them to do a war, they will do exactly what you say. Firing any of them would be another mistake.

I dont think there is any chance DeSantis would do a half assed war with no end strategy.
I’m seeing a lot of hype for DeSantis. Yes, he would be (and would have been) better than Trump, but his foreign policy is no different than Trump’s, and it’s foreign policy that sunk Trump.

I think Hegseth has done pretty well but there is a larger point. How many shitty people does Trump have to hire before its his fault?
CBS NEWS: Some Trump aides expect the president to blame Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth for the midterm election results, believing the outcome would have been different without the Iran war. CENTCOM commander Gen. Brad Cooper and Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Dan Caine could also face blame over their roles in advising on the war.

Lol. Imagine if Republicans had done this 2 years ago. Instead they did literally nothing.
Thank you, Mr. President. Our thank you will come in January - with subpoenas.

More than anything, people are tired of Trump. It’s been 10 straight years of him dominating the news cycle.

A DeSantis-Rubio ticket would give us a landslide win in a general election, especially if Dems nominate someone far left.
One path to victory in 2028 is a DeSantis/Rubio or Rubio/DeSantis ticket. Ron DeSantis is incredibly Conservative and anyone who has been blessed to live in Florida will tell you how popular he and his governing style is. Marco Rubio is well known for being incredibly talented and a master of multi-tasking. He is a generational talent. America would be lucky to have this ticket.

There is nothing complicated about the election results. Two years ago, voters gave Trump a second chance. He did not take it.

Trump saying he had no interest in going after Biden, Obama or Hillary was just another way of saying "yeah, I'm going to do nothing about any of the accountability stuff".

It will take 10 years to fix this, and we will need the strongest candidate in 2028 to even begin.
JUST IN - Democrat Troy Jackson projected to narrowly defeat incumbent Senator Susan Collins in Maine, flipping the seat blue.
