So she’s been wonderful to you on a personal level, but you are joining the pile on any way. Did you think this post made you look good?
I know @HaleyforMI way better than most people on X. She and I came into Congress together in 2018. She was co-Prez of our freshman class. She was incredibly kind to me when my late partner died; she organized a big group of our class to come to the House floor to support me when I spoke about his suicide. We were roommates in 2023, after my wonderful first roomie lost her election; both my adult kids know Haley well and are on a texting basis with her. We’ve socialized and we have good friends in common. While she and I differ on one impt issue, specifically Israel and AIPAC support, I’ve never publicly challenged her on those things, because I felt that her good points outweighed the issues I disagreed with her on. Today, that changes. 👇 Haley’s endorsement of Rogers in the MI senate race is appalling. Not because he’s a Republican, but because what he stands for is what she, and I, and our caucus has fought so hard against. Rogers is a 100% anti-choice politician. He is a Trump loyalist. He’s shown his Islamophobia in his many remarks against @AbdulElSayed, and with this endorsement, Haley has shown that she agrees with his positions. I’m shocked by Haley’s endorsement. I’m terribly sad and disappointed. I’m furious and will be more so if we lose the MI senate race. So many people in the Democratic Party have shown so much support to Haley over the years, and she has betrayed them all. If this is because of her new relationship (about which many of us were so happy for her after she lost the primary), all I can say is that any woman who abandons her friends when a new guy comes along is no friend at all. The fallout for Haley won’t just be in Dem politics; she will be a pariah among her friends in the Democratic caucus in Congress. Only she will be able to decide whether it was worth it.

Will Wheaton complaining that smart people aren’t nice to him. This clearly has to change, dumb people should be bullying him too.
Will Wheaton explains why being bullied for being intelligent doesn’t give you the right to bully others. Jonathan Frakes: “You spoke to or are a member of or what is this with the Mensa society?” Will Wheaton: “My son Ryan is in Mensa. He had to take the test as a minor and get special permission. He was the only kid in there.” “He went in very confident and he came out like white as a sheet, like he had just walked through Bastogne. And he goes, ‘Well, that was humbling.’” “You can be really, really smart and feel like nobody gets you. That doesn’t make it okay for you to go and be a bully to people.” “As adults in this world, we have this opportunity and a responsibility to see that in kids and nurture it and encourage it.”

Ah yes the "Jews secretly manipulating gentiles into doing things they didn't want to do" approach from the people who definitely aren't antisemites

I do not know much about this guy, but he seems kind of like an idiot here. I would prefer not to have him in the Senate, and I hope Michigan voters prevent him from doing so.
.@AbdulElSayed says it’s ok for MEN to be in girl’s locker rooms. Why? “Well because they are going to find out about it on the internet anyway” Completely unacceptable.

The system was attacked in 2020, but the system held. The courts, the governors, the state-level election officials and Congress all played the roles they were designed to play.
It’s insane that people lived through 2020 and still pretend the constitutional order is intact

I was born in Texas, and have been a Cowboys fan from the moment I started watching football. It's clear that the only way this team will improve is when Jerry Jones realizes he's not a good GM and retires, or...well...dies.
The terrible Dallas Cowboys defense is still terrible. All it took for the Cardinals to get going is replacing their bad backup quarterback with their other backup quarterback who is actually good.

So hilariously revealing to see people who built brands the past decade by pretending to think some things are bigger than party loyalty now melting down when a Democrat valued something more than party loyalty.

It’s not the he disagrees with her, or is upset about her change of heart. He goes straight to calling her “evil.” They have to make her less than human, destroy her, maybe worse.

This is really disgusting.
HORRIBLE: CNN's David Axelrod and Van Jones strongly imply Democrat Haley Stevens is having some sort of mental breakdown because she's endorsing Republican Mike Rogers for Senate over Democrat Abdul el-Sayed

Has there EVER been a case where Democrats choose country over party? Ever?
The same people that told me for years I had to vote Democrat because Trump was an existential threat now want Democrats and Independents to uniformly, without thought, vote for an antisemite who regularly associates with bigots in Michigan. So...

Checking in on how fucking nuts Matt Lewis has gone now in pursuit of shilling for Democrats
Zionism’s a helluva drug. More powerful (apparently) than rank partisanship. Regardless of what you think of El-Sayed (I’m not a huge fan), the U.S. Senate hangs in the balance — in just two days. This. Is. Stunning.

I did not watch a single football game today. The @NFL needs to find a way to rein in the referees and stop the excessive penalties. The games are simply unwatchable with all of the interference.

I left the Republican Party when Trump became the presumptive nominee in 2016. I did not vote for him that year, or in subsequent elections. I grew up in the 80s, and my memories of Trump's repeated ego-driven attempts to make himself a celebrity did not leave me with a positive opinion of him. When he ran for president, I thought it was a publicity stunt. When he started to win in the primary, it was disappointing but not surprising - four years before, GOP voters nominated a ticket with two of the most decent men who have ever held political office, and they were destroyed in disgusting fashion by the Obama campaign and the press. Although I understood the motivation behind support of Trump, I simply did not like or trust him enough to vote for him at the time, or in future elections. His dumpster fire of a second term has validated my misgivings. His second term is a failure. His policy choices have hurt the economy, destabilized foreign policy, and increased the political polarization that Obama kindled and Biden stirred up. That said, I am still a libertarian-leaning conservative. I have voted for Democrats (thank you for your service, Jared Golden), but will not do so this year. I cannot understand why people who claim to be conserving conservatism and protecting constitutional norms are endorsing candidates who have promised to pursue policies that are antithetical to their purported goals. True principles are non-partisan, and one's dedication to them should not be affected by their opinion of a single elected official. If disdain for one politician can so profoundly change your fundamental political convictions, you should not feign outrage when people question whether you believed anything you said before your 'conversion.'
I’ll never understand how disliking Trump sends disgruntled Republicans running straight into the arms of the Democrats. I’ve criticized him for years. Never voted for him. Never voted for a Democrat, either. They don’t represent me. Some of you have the political convictions of a cheap date. Whiny little fools.

Wanting El-Sayed to win is both anti-American and antisemitic. Libertarians once again reminds us that they’re both spineless and useless.

My big takeaway as well. It's all BS and self-flattering logic from these people. "I am putting country over party. YOU are a sellout whore, and a fool besides!" What an act.
Every “country over party” former Republican who do nothing but take $$$ from vulnerable liberals as a job sure are going hard at Haley Stevens.

They have never at any point cared about any of the neutral virtues they claim to espouse. It's just power for their side all the way down.

Note, once again, how much of the political damage was baked in before the Iran war began. One word: tariffs.
I think this is the most important chart of the 2026 election (via @sfcpoll)

The biggest give away in all of this is an ethnic genocide supposedly happened and they are making jokes about it. It's now just a punchline for clapter. Every single one of these people know that an actual genocide never happened.
Michael Che on SNL Weekend Update just said Israel’s record voter turnout is great “regardless of if you’re on the right side, or the left side, or the genocide.” That’s not a joke. That’s a blood libel dressed up as comedy, broadcast to millions while Israelis just voted in massive numbers after years of war and terror. This election shows a free, functioning democracy one in which had the highest Arab Muslim Israeli turnouts as well. Calling the war in Gaza “the genocide” is the same ancient libels recycled for the camera. Comedy stops being comedy when it launders the same false claim used to justify attacks on Jews.

Wil Wheaton is engagement-whoring, yes. But this brings to mind (yet again) that neither artists nor fans of the art have control over who finds the art meaningful, enjoyable, worthy of praise (or criticism) and so forth. Once you put something into the world creatively, it kinda becomes its own thing. And it's not that uncommon for the person making the art to have no idea why the art has taken root in the souls of other people. Certainly Gene Roddenberry didn't understand his own creation. And I have no doubt even if what Wheaton says is true—and isn't it convenient to put a political shout in the mouth of a dead man?—Stewart didn't understand why anyone Right-of-center would enjoy Next Generation, or his portrayal of Picard.
