The most beautiful tribute to 9/11 as 2977 lights fly over NYC and temporarily recreate the twin towers. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 We will never forget.

Forty years since Paul Simon’s seminal “Graceland” album, what the great musician told me about working with South African artists to make it happen, and what the South African choir Ladysmith Black Mambazo told me about working on the record.

Rooibos, meaning "red bush" in Afrikaans, grows exclusively in a 140,000 acre area in the Cederberg region of South Africa, around 155 miles north of Cape Town. Its needle-like leaves have long been used by the country's Indigenous communities to make a woody-flavored tea. Now, it appeals to the tastebuds of tea-lovers globally. cnn.it/4hfHKBc

Today, we honour his memory.🇿🇦 This is the Madiba Room at Leeuwenhof, kept exactly as it was 32 years ago - the desk where Nelson Mandela sat, the bed where he slept the night before delivering his first State of the Nation address, the same view of the mountain he would have looked out on while adding the final touches to a speech that shaped a nation. In his memory, we give 67 minutes today, with kindness. What are you doing with yours? Let us know below. #MandelaDay #67Minutes

DYK? Skukuza Airport (SZK) was named the most beautiful airport in the world by Forbes, earning the title of the world's top small airport. Located inside South Africa's Kruger National Park, the airport blends in with the bush. It features a thatched roof, open-air wooden waiting areas, and natural decor that gives it a luxury safari-lodge feel. #SAInnovates #GovZAUpdates

Oprah in Cannes I had two encounters with Oprah in Cannes. One personal and the other, in a vast audience. It took me the second encounter, to listen to her story and orientation, in order to understand our first chance meeting. On Sunday, my business partner, Jacques Burger and I were having a casual lunch at an iconic beachfront hotel in Cannes. Jacques noticed Oprah Winfrey sitting at the table next to us, in what looked like a meeting. Once the people left, she got up, and I smiled at her, and quite unbelievably she came up to our table, and put out her hand to say hello. We chatted for about 5 minutes, she was entirely normal, and down to earth. No hint of celebrity or self-importance. Entirely the opposite experience I’ve had with a number of celebrities we’ve made ads with over the years. She even commented on my poke bowl and asked what it was because she wanted to order it next time. I thanked her for the unbelievable job she has done with her girls’ school in South Africa, of which she is rightfully, incredibly proud. We invited her to join us for lunch, and she thought about for a few seconds, and said, “I have to hit the gym now”. I wanted to ask for a selfie, but resisted the urge as the moment was just so completely human and authentic. It would have ruined it. I wanted to tell her all about thestreetstore.org but didn’t want to hold her up. Today, on stage, that surreal encounter made sense. Oprah is “intentional” about living a real and grounded life. Seeing everyone as absolute equals, and wanting authentic, human moments and engagements. She read a book in the 80’s by Gary Zukav, called Seat of the Soul, and this book, which she referenced a few times, helped her define her purpose, intentionality and life journey. Definitely my next read. Her story is a remarkable one. From poverty to becoming arguably the most famous and wealthiest woman in the world. And using that privilege to make a profound difference to millions of lives over 40 years so far. She looks remarkable. More like 52 than 72. Obviously kindness is not just good for the soul, but for the body too. As her great friend Maya Angelou said to her “your legacy is every life you touch.” Huge thanks to @Oprah for so genuinely and generously sharing her wisdom and lessons 🙌 And hugest congratulations to her for being awarded the @Cannes_Lions International Festival of Creativity #LionHeart

Happy Father's Day! Here in South Africa, fatherhood comes in many forms, shapes and sizes... 🇿🇦 Hippos and lions step in as powerful protectors, while ostriches and meerkats take a more hands-on approach - rearing, guarding and babysitting. 🥰 Different styles, same goal. 💚
