💯 This is what 6th Street should be … but we get beer-stenched bars, vomit, needles, drunken brawls, barriers, shootings, stabbings … doesn’t have to be this way.

This is a hard thread to write, but it needs to be said. While I was elected—and even now—I’ve been dealing with a stalker. A dangerous one. Someone who didn’t just stalk me, but a State House Rep before me. And guess what? DA José Garza’s office LET HIM GO. 1/

Anyone remember Stephon Morson? He was charged and arrested for Murder related to Austin's 53rd Homicide of 2024.
Well, today his bond was lowered from $800,000 to just $100. So he could soon be released back into our community with a pending charge for MURDER.
We've already seen examples where suspected criminals cut their ankle monitors, violate their conditions of release, and more - then they go on to commit even more violent crime. Lowering bonds and releasing violent criminals puts our entire city at risk and should not be tolerated!

I am honored to recognize Officer Kabbah as our Employee of the Week. On one of the hardest days of their lives, he showed this sweet young boy and his mother so much love and compassion. This is what it means to be a police officer and to have the heart of a public servant!

Today at @InstituteCicero office: multiple buses of protesters, trespassing, yelling w/ megaphones, and banging on windows, to try to stop our homeless reform work.
To be clear: we won't be intimidated. Their tactics are designed to stop anyone from standing up against NGOs.
