Today’s energy tax cut will give families some breathing room on bills, and provide some reassurance this winter.
This will be funded from the cancelled Digital ID scheme this year, helping to bring down inflation while supporting households in every postcode.

In the wake of the horrific synagogue attack in Manchester, we felt it important to re-share this moving essay by Edward Hadas, a Jewish convert to Christianity, written as antisemitism once again rises across the world.
Our hearts are with the Jewish community in grief. Yet may our grief become the seed of solidarity and peace.

A beautiful article by @_BenCurran about former MP John Battle's work with his local community. They're not "all the same".

Fabulous spotlight piece on John Battle by @_BenCurran
‘For John, the Common Good is not a vague ideal, but a lived, relational ethic. “It starts with two things: the dignity of the person, and the need to include everyone”.’

In an age that prizes mobility and individual success, one man's long commitment to his West Leeds neighbourhood speaks of a different kind of vocation—one rooted in relationship, perseverance, and hope.
@_BenCurran spoke to John Battle about how he has built the Common Good not through grand gestures, but through quiet, consistent presence.

@_BenCurran and @ChildrenNE met with @SharonHodgsonMP recently to talk about their 'Little Minds in Mind' parent-infant relationship service and the Start for Life programme.

Great to see @mayaellisuk asking a question about babies in parliament today.
She thanked the Government for extending the Start for Life programme until April 2026, and challenged them to extend its scope beyond the 75 areas of England that currently receive funding.
We are pleased that the government have agreed to meet with her and the APPG.

We had a great day in & around #Morpeth today, including a visit to see the great work that Barnabus Safe & Sound are doing in youth work and homelessness. We then knocked on doors before speaking to parents outside Morpeth First School.
We found a huge appetite for #change 🌹

This Conservative #NationalService policy announcement has been an absolute shambles. They can't even agree amongst themselves what the policy is: Anne Marie Trevelyan saying one thing, James Cleverly another & Steve Baker yet another. #ToryChaos

We’ve had some fantastic conversations today with residents in Alnwick & Morpeth. There’s a real desire for a change of government, and huge enthusiasm for @UKLabour.
You can make this change possible, including in #Northnorthumberland, by voting for Labour on 4th July.
