Hanging out with .@guychristensen_ at my place in Chongqing. 3.6 million followers. Eight years building one of the most prominent pro-Palestinian platforms on the planet. Gone overnight.
Following the forced sale of TikTok’s US operations, the new owners wasted no time retroactively digging through his archives, culling content posted years before the acquisition. Yesterday, they permanently banned the channel.
The justification is pure farce. One of the "strikes" was a video on Italian port workers striking over weapons shipments to Israel, a post .@tiktok_us had already suspended, appealed, reviewed, and fully cleared. Another was a completely benign video from 2023, suddenly flagged last week. A channel built over nearly a decade wiped out by content their own system previously greenlit.
This is the "free speech" guaranteed by American ownership. Put Larry Ellison, a major private funder of the IDF, in control of moderation, and this is what happens.

I’ve heard several OAI people say there are unfixable bugs in hardware that are exploitable by AI models directly speaking machine code so even if we could solve software that’s not enough. We need defense to move faster than offense if that’s even possible we may just have a new normal that requires adapting to insecure software (bank transfers require going into a branch and taking a dna test 🤣😬)

Straight out of Minecraft… this is Sakura Valley, China’s largest cherry blossom garden.
At over 200,000 square meters, this is roughly the size of the US Capitol or half the size of Vatican city. There are also 30,000 cherry trees across 68 varieties.

Introducing Griffin, the first model to pass the video Turing test.
48% of people who talked to it live thought it was a real human. Previous systems have had a pass rate <3%. It is #1 on NVIDIA's benchmark for full-duplex AI video.
It’s the first Human Interaction Model (HIM).
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The 48% figure and "video Turing test" claim are from Tavus's own study of 54 one-minute calls, not independently verified or using a standard protocol. Griffin-Lite leads NVIDIA's VideoFDB benchmark on their public leaderboard.

Global bond market meltdown.
YOLO.
🤷♂️
The yield crisis has gone global. Except for China.
Yields are now up to 2007 levels in the US, 1998 levels in the UK, 2008 levels in Germany and France, and 1996 levels in Japan.
In China? Government borrowing costs are near their lowest on record.
This stark contrast is one of the most underlooked trends in the market.
China's economy is in its own world.

JAPAN'S SHORT-TERM YIELD IS GOING VERTICAL.
Today, Japan's 3-month bond yield hit 1.25%, its highest level in 31.5 years.
Japan's 6-month yield hit 1.34%, its highest level in 31 years.
What's really surprising here is that both these yields were negative just 2 years ago, and now they are surging like a bond crisis is imminent.
HC Li retweeted
This is not an AI stock.
This is Japan's 10-year yield, which hits a 31-year high today.
When bond yields go vertical like this, it's a sign that there's a lot of pain ahead for the economy.
