New Apple TV 4K is too expensive, so I decided to virtualize one on my Mac instead of buying it 😆

ALT A virtual machine window displays tvOS 27.2 running on macOS. The screen shows a snowy mountain range with a bright blue sky and scattered clouds. The word “hallo” appears in large, light blue cursive text in the center, and a smaller message at the bottom reads, “Press the middle button to continue.” The virtual machine title bar indicates the device name “tv4k4” and its local IP address.

iPhone Duo is here! Excited to have worked on the design of our open/close transition. It’s designed to make the two displays feel like one seamless experience by perceptually bending the focal plane, not the content, so that it feels like opening a window onto a singular view.

I will be opening a pull request with this in github.com/Lakr233/vphone-cl… very soon
Looking for a fun app to try out on iPhone Duo? Check out ChibiStudio 4! Try playing around with laptop mode in the chibi canvas 👀

To be fair it’s very possible that the builds of these apps in the non-Duo runtime are not the ones that have been optimized for the device, hence why they didn’t include them.

Nice! That little display looks really good, got a link for it? 👀
The simulator runtime for iOS 27.2 supports iPhone Duo now, but it still comes with almost none of the built-in apps. That doesn’t mean you can’t just install them from the non-Duo iOS 27.2 runtime via “xcrun simctl install” though 😏

Only the BLE advertisements, although I'm currently working on the setup itself, which uses Bonjour over WiFi
I really wanted to see what the HomeView setup UI looks like on device, so I adapted my little ESP32 Apple accessory emulator firmware to broadcast its Bluetooth advertisements 😅
