From a student with no one to put him through in cybersecurity.
To guiding others the same way nobody guided him.
To building a community so others wouldn’t have to figure it out alone.
To that same community becoming an official Cisco Networking Academy.
This is that story.
“Dear Salati,
I hope you are doing well.
I am glad to hear the impact NETACAD is making within your community at KWARA STATE UNIVERSITY .”
Thank you sir @OnijeC

Take a closer look at the background of these pictures. See the name Свердловск (Sverdlovsk)? It tells a fascinating story of Russia’s Soviet past.
Named after Bolshevik leader Yakov Sverdlov, Sverdlovsk was the former name of Yekaterinburg, a major Russian city in the Ural Mountains, from 1924 to 1991........Following the collapse of the Soviet Union, the city reclaimed its historical name, Yekaterinburg, while the surrounding region retained the name Sverdlovsk Oblast, which it still bears today.
A simple name on a building, yet a powerful reminder of how history, politics and identity leave lasting marks on a nation's landscape.

Being part of a community is one thing. Making a difference in it is another.
Through participation, commitment, and meaningful contributions, some members remind us why community matters.

Defined path. Me. My dream. Nothing is stopping me!
Seven and Twenty.
Still learning. Still growing. Still figuring things out.
Grateful for how far I've come, hopeful for what's ahead, and trusting the process.
One step at a time. ❤️
My grandma often says to me, “Ọmọ bínú-bínú ni ẹ, o kì í ṣe ọmọ dùnrùn-dùnrùn.” It means, “You are a child who flares up in anger, not one who stays hurt and carries the pain.”
She explains that when someone wrongs me, I react in the moment, but I don’t hold on to the hurt
If I were the kind of person who nursed pain, I would have learned from what that person did before and seen the next wrong coming. Instead, I forgive quickly, get hurt again, and cry again.

No one knew I risked missing 2 tests for this call to happen…
In the end they were later postponed..
The day Cisco’s GM for Nigeria and Ghana spoke to me, and I didn’t even know when tears started rolling down my face. 🥹
It was a dream come true.
I was praying for a flower, but God gave me a whole garden. 🤲🏽
He appreciated us for what we are doing with @THE_CYBRARIANS .
