We're told progressive ideas are "fringe." Really?
59% want Medicare for All
57% want a $20 minimum wage
61% want a billionaire wealth tax
63% want to pause AI development
66% want the wealthy to pay more into Social Security
Maybe it's the establishment that's out of touch.

They are lowering US flags to half-mast for a week, but if the government really wants to pay tribute to Dolly, they should fund education, the arts, and medical research instead of trying to eradicate them.

Together with my colleague Emmanuel Saez, we’ve spent years working alongside California's civil society to make the 200 Silicon Valley billionaires—including Mark Zuckerberg and Peter Thiel—pay their fair share.
Today, they have just lost a crucial battle.

Every Democrat leader on your social media feed should be cheering a Steyer comeback because no GOP on the November ballot means lower MAGA turnout and more Dem wins to take over the House from Trump. Watch closely.
"4% of total late mail dropped today."
This is a key piece of info. For those who dropped their ballots in the mail close to or on election day, it takes 5-7 days for USPS to deliver those ballots to the county office. More reason why CA takes a long time to count votes.
Late mail summary (6/3):
- Today’s votes were 11% better for Steyer relative to Hilton than on election night, slightly below his ~15% benchmark.
- His best counties were Santa Clara and Los Angeles, both at 13%.
- Bianco is holding slightly stronger than Porter and Mahan.
- 4% of total late mail dropped today.
- Steyer needs compounding gains in later mail to make the general.

Take this with a tiny n=273-sized grain of salt, but Steyer-Hilton shift (32.5%) from this small batch out of Mono County is over double the approximate target he would need to hit statewide.
Solano is my county. I dropped my ballot at the polling place yesterday afternoon. I checked the status of my ballot and it hasn't been "accepted" yet which is not uncommon.
If you are a CA voter and want to check the status of your ballot, go to:

Sir you are literally bought. You said, "I need Chevron...Chevron wants to give me a check, that’s their prerogative.”
Chevron contributed over $ half a million to boost Becerra. More corporate $ rolled in from Meta ($1M), AirBnb ($1M), Uber, DaVita, HealthNet, McDonald's, and Kalshi.
Xavier "I need Chevron" Becerra.

Oh it's worse than tough. Tech billionaire big bets got clobbered. Embarrassing even.
Matt Mahan raised ~$46M (direct + super pacs) mostly from Silicon Valley billionaires and elite, which was the most out of all the candidates for governor outside of self funded billionaire Steyer, and finished with a paltry 4% pretty much the same as his avg polling rank.
Ro Khanna annihilated Ethan Agarwal with over 9X more votes. He's in 4th place behind 2 Republicans.
The big lesson. You cannot treat candidates in politics the same way as startup seed funding. It doesn't work like that.
Tonight is shaping up to be a tough night for Silicon Valley and the tech sector.
Matt Mahan, the tech-backed California governor candidate, has conceded and had a poor showing given all the spending for him.
Self-funder Saikat Chakrabarti is not looking strong in a San Francisco congressional race.
Eric Jones, another self-funder from the tech community, is currently trailing outside the top two in a different Bay Area race (though it's close.)
And Ethan Agarwal, a tech entrpreneur who some thought would mount a serious challenge to Ro Khanna, is a total non-factor in the South Bay.
Interesting example. If we had rank choice voting statewide in CA, Steyer could be getting a lot of #2 choice votes.
Pretty interesting finding from yesterday’s CEPP poll— the most common second choice of @MattMahanSJ supporters is … Steve Hilton
This morning. I still have the Twitter app on my phone. I am loyal to the tweet. ✊🏽

“Most of the people we’ve talked to today are voting for Steyer.” — @Elex_Michaelson at a polling site in North Hollywood
Exactly. Because of Citizens United, one way or another billionaire money is involved.
So we're either getting a self-funded billionaire or an establishment politician beholden to his billionaire and corporate donors. Steyer is at least an ally fighting for the working class.
Alright my fellow Californians, you have 41 minutes left to vote for @TomSteyer for governor. Polls close at 8pm.
If you need, here's how to find your polling place 🗳️:
sos.ca.gov/elections/polling…
NYT: David Johnson, 52, a teacher who lives in Oakland and voted for Tom Steyer for California governor. Johnson said he appreciates Steyer's calls for single-payer healthcare and a billionaire tax.
“I looked at who was going to keep California the same versus who was going to be an agent of change. Can we do better? Absolutely.”
AGREED 👉🏽 AI must work for all, not just oligarchs.
Here in the CA primary today, vote for @TomSteyer because he agrees too. "For generations, people have built their fortunes in CA. But those fortunes should never come at the expense of working people. Here in the state that made AI possible, we win as a team – or not at all."
Two months ago, when @AOC and I proposed an AI data center moratorium, we were called “Luddites.”
Now New York is on the verge of passing a moratorium and dozens of localities are doing the same.
People understand: AI must work for all, not just oligarchs.
Read, "Make sure all Californians benefit from AI."
