A wholly merited award for one of our best and most honest military reporters.
I won a @Milreporters Award for two stories I wrote about the Iranian drone that killed six Americans in Kuwait at the start of the U.S.-Iran war. @SeanParnellASW disputed the reporting. He said it was a "secured facility" because it had 6-foot walls, soldiers on the ground disagreed. Both sides requested voting hour extensions. Bolsonaro's campaign asked for extensions due to weather disruptions, while Lula's side cited transportation problems. You and everyone else screaming about this only ever mention one side requesting the extension. More importantly, Lula won by more than 4 million votes. The claim that the extension changed the outcome doesn't hold up when the margin was that large. The number of votes that came in after the extension was under 40,000. And the first round BS argument isn't persuasive either. Runoffs frequently produce dramatically different results because voters don't automatically transfer to the ideologically closest candidate. Look at the recent Ken Paxton vs. John Cornyn Republican runoff in Texas, where first round results did not predict the runoff outcome. Coryn had nearly double the number of votes than Paxton did in the first primary election, but Paxton won in a landslide in the runoff. You are all starting with the conclusion that the election was stolen and then working backward. An unusual procedural decision is not the same thing as evidence that the election outcome was illegitimate. Ridiculous.

The *vast* majority of the American public does not support mass deportations for migrants who have no criminal record. These people work and pay taxes and have families here. People on X can yell and scream about it, but they fact is they're out of touch with most people.
Of the 63 people on a July 30th deportation flight to Africa, 60 Minutes found that 19% had been charged with or convicted of crimes, including theft, assault, drug offenses and weapons possession. The remaining 81% had either traffic violations or no criminal record at all. In response, Department of Homeland Security lawyer James Percival said: “This administration is following the law that Congress has passed. There are a lot of people in this population that we talk about who committed very serious crimes. And people should be very happy with President Trump for getting these serious criminals out of the country.” cbsn.ws/4ihmFF3

The Hatch Act prohibition against using your position to direct the success or failure of a political party is a 24/7 prohibition, on any device Update to next year’s guidance: Example 3: you may not go on X, say you work at the Pentagon, and tell people what party to vote for

The Hatch Act prohibits influencing elections from their government accounts. Sheller has had this X account long before he worked in the Trump Administration and is posting as a private citizen. He doesn't give up his 1st Amendment right to free speech because he works in gov't

No. Truly great men changed the name for a reason. The men who won WWII. Small men want to change it to make themselves sound tough while failing to even lead the war they started. A real Secretary of War would be in the Middle East and Europe every week building a coalition, checking on the troops, and leading. Hegseth is working out, fighting the Boy Scouts, doing two camera videos in his office, hiding from the media, and going to football games. Real warriors lead.
President Donald J. Trump and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth had the conviction to call us the Department of War and say it plainly: America’s military exists to deter war through strength and, if necessary, fight and win. The President has acted. Now Congress must finish the job and enshrine the Department of War name in law. foxnews.com/opinion/trump-re…

A great thread on the upcoming Israeli election.
Israel has an election tomorrow. In my experience, after every Israeli election there is a lot of misunderstandings of how Israeli politics work spreading around. This is a thread on the basics of their system & the relevant parties this cycle.

Under 8 C.F.R. § 208.6(b), “[t]he confidentiality of other records kept by DHS…that indicate that a specific alien has applied for refugee admission, asylum, withholding of removal…shall also be protected from disclosure…” #DisbarPercival
This illegal alien is @60Minutes poster child for what it claims are wrongful deportations. I pulled his file. His claimed reason for fearing Mali was that he is “gay,” just in case you’re wondering how bad the immigration fraud problem is.

This guy is a devout Christian who was granted protection from his home country because Islamist terrorists are trying to institute sharia law. He's lived here half his life. He's married to an American & has American kids. This is not who the government should be targeting.
A Texas father who had lived in the U.S. for 25 years with no criminal record was finishing his night shift as an Uber driver when immigration agents detained him. Without being able to speak to his lawyer or a judge, he was put on a plane and sent first to Ghana, a country where he had no ties. He was then sent to his home country, despite a determination by a U.S. immigration court judge that he could not be deported there due to likely persecution. cbsn.ws/3Ude66r

But soon other past-profit Amish work horses will be killed and a good chunk of the current Central Park horses will likely be killed. And animal rights activists will sleep well at night knowing their tende sensibilities will never have to witness a work horse working in NYC.

After Elon Musk posted on X saying he had throttled Ukraine’s use of Starlink after it was used for offensive attacks, House Armed Services Committee member Rep. Jason Crow (D-CO) says the billionaire’s ability to wield that power is “beyond disturbing to me.” “It cannot and should not be the case that a tech oligarch, a private citizen, who has that much control over our national security, who is unaccountable, who is unelected, with zero transparency, is making life and death decisions on the battlefield in systems that our service members and our partners and allies rely upon,” he adds.

We went 250 years without hyper-partisanship being messaged from DOD, but now, because Hegseth doesn’t understand why the US military is the greatest in the world, we get this. Motherfuckers needs to resign.
The Hatch Act prohibits federal employees like Stu Scheller, the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Under Secretary of War, from influencing elections by telling people how to vote. But what else do you expect from a guy whose military career ended because he can’t follow rules.

Heading into the midterms, I plan to drop a post a day up to the election offering my perspective on the MAGA movement. Subsequent posts will have pictures and personal stories with Republican party leadership and myself. But this initial post will set the tone. What is a conservative: Someone who believes in less government programs, regulation, and handouts; strong military/police, the Constitution, and one nation under God. What is a Republican: Someone who supports the Republican party believing it will lead to conservative policies. What is MAGA: Someone who believes liberals, progressives, and socialists seek to replace conservatives and their way of life. Someone who believes the establishment needs aggressive reform; a belief that we must fight, fight, fight! We believe Hillary Clinton when she spoke for the liberal movement last year and said, “White men, of a certain persuasion, a certain religion, a certain point of view, a certain ideology, is just doing such damage to what we should be aiming for.” She is talking about me. She is talking about US. They are threatened by a vision of America led by strong MEN. When I was in the Marine Corps, I truly was an independent. Apolitical. But at a certain point, when you look around America and find yourself surrounded, you either make compromises… or fight back. President Trump epitomizes that fight; No other mortal human would still be standing after the barrage of attacks on reputation, finances, family, and life. That hate would have destroyed me. But he’s still standing, the ultimate champion. A generational leader. Secretary Hegseth is the target of the establishment’s scorn, because he epitomizes the biggest threat – which above else – is strong men of a certain persuasion. I am blessed to serve under the President and the Secretary of War for two more years. There is still so much work to be done under their leadership. But beyond the next two years, I believe their leadership will carry on. They are showing us how to fight progressive liberalism for a generation. Screenshot this: I want to be clear who I am… a warrior. A strong man who will fight for conservative values until the left takes power and puts me back in jail. Vote Republican.
