Are the Democrats now "favored" to win the NC House? Honest answer: no one really knows. Predicting individual races is very tricky. But... North Carolina's election maps are absolutely purpose-drawn to suppress our state's voters in such a way as to make Democratic wins very difficult. Like, that's the point. So for Democrats to even have a whiff of a prayer of winning real governing power in our state legislature requires a truly massive coalition of North Carolinians voting for change against the sleazy, rancid corruption that completely pervades our legislature today. Democrats already win a majority of votes for our State House and State Senate. But that just is not enough, given the outrageous partisan gerrymander in North Carolina. They would need more like an 8-10 point over-performance on that just to clinch a majority of seats in the State House alone - even more in the State Senate. That is possible this year. But is it favored? Truly, no one knows. But if it happens, it'll be because of guys like @BrendenJonesNC - the Republican Majority Leader - outright lying on the floor of the People's House to try to steer a massively inflated, no-bid contract to a bunch of scummy developers who gave him money. Political corruption thrives under partisan gerrymandering, as North Carolina has plainly shown over the last 15 years. We're going to find out soon whether the voters have had enough.
