Patrick Stewart’s final on-screen appearance will be as Professor Charles Xavier in AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY, bringing his extraordinary 26-year journey with one of Marvel’s most iconic characters to an unexpected close. Stewart first played Professor X in 2000’s X-MEN, helping establish the superhero genre on a whole new level. His portrayal gave the character something that went beyond his telepathic abilities. He brought wisdom, compassion and an almost Shakespearean authority to a mentor who believed that humans and mutants could coexist despite everything working against that dream. Across the original X-MEN trilogy, X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST and LOGAN, Stewart became inseparable from Charles Xavier. His relationship with Ian McKellen’s Magneto also became one of the franchise’s defining elements, built around two characters who shared a dream of protecting mutants but had radically different ideas about how to achieve it. LOGAN felt like a fitting farewell when it arrived in 2017, giving Stewart one of his most powerful performances as an older, vulnerable Xavier. But he returned briefly in 2022’s DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS, and now his final appearance will bring him back alongside several familiar faces from the original X-MEN films. His return in DOOMSDAY was confirmed alongside Ian McKellen, James Marsden, Rebecca Romijn and Alan Cumming, marking a major reunion for the original generation of X-MEN actors. The film’s teaser even showed Xavier and Magneto sitting together over a game of chess, a fitting image for two characters whose complicated friendship has defined so much of their history. Stewart had spoken about returning to the role in his final interview with TV Insider, saying he still loved being challenged by new work and could never imagine officially retiring. ā€œI’ll always and forever be an actor.ā€ AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY will now give audiences one final opportunity to see Patrick Stewart as Professor X. A character he first brought to life more than a quarter of a century ago, and one that will forever be associated with his legacy.
Patrick Stewart’s last role will be Professor X in ā€˜AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY’.

Working class people’s lives are on the ballot on Tuesday—their healthcare, their rent, their bills. Haley Stevens just betrayed them by endorsing the very Republican she said she wanted to run against.
I am endorsing Mike Rogers for the United States Senate today.
