"We Indians are not a single race community. We are diverse in all aspects. Be it complexion, appearance, language, food, religion, etc."
This should be taught with conviction to the kids at the primary school level.
My dear Indians,
Please listen to this cute little angel from Arunachal Pradesh.
Don't call people from the North-East Chinese based on their looks. They take pride in being Indians. Call them Indians and let them be a part of the mainstream.
It's a humble request from a Naval veteran.

Some jokes write themselves. Please let’s not kid ourselves.
The freedom of speech and expression is being taken away from lakhs of citizens across the country.
This BJP government does not care about Article 14, Article 19 and Article 21 of our great Constitution. This government wants to deprive all citizens, including elected representatives, of their right to express themselves freely.
We extend our support to students, youth, social media users, vloggers, YouTubers, and independent digital platforms. We demand that they must be allowed to express themselves freely. Full strength to them as we, all together, fight this dangerous trend of censorship.
Instead of indulging in atrocities against citizens on social media, this government should focus on taking care of the North East along with ensuring the safety and security of all people across the country.

This was in the late 1970s.
A relative of mine, who lived in one of the poshest localities of Delhi, had been educated at one of the best boarding schools in India, and whose father had held powerful positions in the government, joined JNU to pursue a PhD.
I saw him one day in the canteen and walked across only to find him look right through me.
A few months later, at a family dinner, I was taken aback when he came up to me and told me, almost apologetically, that he would prefer not to associate with me in any way at college. I was not to let anyone know that we were related.
I would occasionally see him arrive on a Vespa scooter, dressed in a shabby kurta and pyjama, and head straight for a dhaba or canteen, where he would sit for hours with a few others like him.
I was subsequently told by another cousin that his driver, an absolute luxury in those days, would follow him on a scooter to a designated point. There, the driver would hand the scooter over to our budding proletarian and take the car back home.
All this charade only to establish his credentials.
Cut to a good twenty years later, at a family wedding. He greeted me with great warmth.
By then, as the family grapevine had it, he wasn’t doing much beyond occupying one part of the house his father had built and renting out the other half.
When he caught up with what I was now doing he caustically remarked, “So, you run a business, is it?”
“Yes. I work hard and generate a livelihood for around sixty people, who work equally hard.”
“Well, some of us have to do bigger and greater stuff,” he had replied.
My husband later told me that if looks could kill, the man would have been reduced to cinder.
I have to say that if I have great disdain today at big bindis, shabby kurtas, dirty feet and stubble, sported by people who, in those days, could be found chuffing away at imported 555s or sipping single malt while posturing as champions of the proletariat, it is because of him.
He left me with a lifelong allergy to hypocrisy passed off as ideology.
I found a good number of folks here are speculating some results on the Israel election on their own and then they are asking @grok to verify. Poor @grok keeps on saying election is not done yet.
I am curious to know why is this engagement farming? Is it with some intention, or simply because these folks are idle and hence their evil mind is at play?

An IAS-IPS couple and their family bought 40 villas and cottages in just two and a half years.
Yet there's barely any outrage or coverage in mainstream media.
Is this the new normal, or what?

These left and right framings in the Indian context are kind of meaningless. The BJP which is considered a "Right wing party" has policy positions to the far far left of say the the Democratic party in the US. Whether it's abortion rights, paid maternity, minimum wages, food, housing, healthcare, taxation, or affirmative action, the democrats can't even in their wettest of wet dreams imagine doing what the three NDA govts have done.
What the INC (Rahul Gandhi) wants is firmly in the basket of communism. Nobody is going to vote for that crap at the center.

Meet Debendra Pradhan and Biswajit Swain, the Odisha-based innovators behind Coratia Technologies!
NIT Rourkela alumni, the duo founded this deep-tech startup to develop indigenous underwater robotic systems for defence and marine applications.
The startup has secured a Rs 66 crore Indian Navy deal for indigenous underwater robotic systems.
Now, NRDC has transferred ocean-profiling technology developed by NIOT, Chennai, to Coratia Technologies.
The technology measures ocean temperature, salinity and depth up to 2,000 metres, transmitting real-time data via satellite.
From defence robotics to ocean research, Odisha’s homegrown talent is building advanced technologies for India!

GenZ might not know this. But older people know too well.
37 years ago, a pro Democracy movement of over one million youth in China, was crushed by the Communists. The Tiananmen Square Massacre.
Ironically it is the leftists today who want "protests" in democracies!

I would love to see the scientific community in India grow by 10X. We are actually too tiny.
However, we do not have the capacity to absorb and it will be unfair to first increase the number and then start the process of capacity building.

The full moon glows behind the sacred Neel Chakra of Shri Jagannath Temple,
When Chandra Dev appears to seek blessings of Mahaprabhu on Sharad Purnima. 🌕
By now I must watched it 50 times. Every single time it makes me feel happy and gives smile to my face. May God bless the family with even more happiness, love and joy.
Honestly, if this were fiction, we’d say too good to be true. ❤️
But look at life, being this lovely. Just couldn’t help sharing this one on our timeline.

Why this 20-second clip resonated so widely?
Authentic, unpolished family joy: In an era of carefully staged reels, expensive holidays, and “picture-perfect” social media, this feels like a warm, spontaneous snapshot of real life.
Simple life + togetherness
Cultural and festive pull:
The song, the Durga Puja lights, the Bengali family vibe, and the overall Pujo atmosphere made it especially relatable to Bengalis and anyone who grew up with that festival energy.
