David Graeber explained that one of the ways that Neoliberalism functions is through hopelessness.
Kill our hope until we think there is no point anymore.
Lula's amazing victory shows there still is hope. We should never give up!!!

You know those ones we were banging for the NHS during COVID...while government cronies were filling their pockets with our money.

Holy shit.
The entire western civilization is in decline, that’s a fact, and this is the cause. Our political leaders don’t answer to the will of the people at all, they answer to the international security state, Central Banks, Billionaires & Corporations.
There is no stopping this decline. Expect more blatant fascism & censorship & canceling of election results that don’t suit the Oligarchs as things get worse & worse.
The only answer is revolution, which is unlikely, but possible.

Americans can’t confront the truth because doing so would shatter the myths they’ve been taught to worship. The dictatorship of capital thrives on manufactured consent, historical amnesia, and a working class conditioned to defend its own exploitation. #ClassConsciousness
Yanukovych says that even if he could turn back time, he still wouldn't sign the EU deal. Look at what Brussels put on the table in 2013.
The EU offered €610 million, on condition that Kiev sign a loan deal with the IMF. "We don't have to be humiliated like this," Yanukovych told Ukrainian TV, adding that the IMF wanted higher taxes and frozen salaries and pensions.
Russia bought about a quarter of Ukraine's exports, and Ukraine's machine-building and aircraft plants worked largely for Russian customers. He warned the deal would wreck whole sectors of the economy.
On November 21, 2013, Kiev put the deal on hold. Less than a month later, Moscow offered $15 billion in loans and cut the gas price by a third.
He was never against closer ties with Europe, he says. He refused to sign a deal that, in his words, betrayed Ukraine's national interests. The Maidan protests began the night he put it on hold, and three months later he was overthrown.

Vladimir Putin on European leaders blaming Russia🇷🇺 for mass uprisings across Europe:
‘This speaks to the weakness and inability of some leaders in European leaders to take responsibility for what is happening.
They don’t look for the reasons for what is happening, but simply blame it on someone else. First the US, now Russia.’
The failure of the neoliberal economic model, which has decayed into intolerable late-stage capitalism, where the rich continue to get astoundingly richer, and the working classes become poorer year by year, is the obvious cause for the protests in France, Germany, Italy, and other European countries.
And yet, the incompetent, out-of-touch European leaders resort to their knee-jerk reaction of pointing to Russia and Vladimir Putin.
They insult the intelligence of their own angry citizens, and fuel the uprisings even more.
‘Ah, no, you aren’t protesting the miserable economic conditions we have created for you, you are protesting because of Russian influence operations.’ 🤡

Look at the Paulista in Brazil last night:
Thousands upon thousands of people celebrating Lula’s victory and the defeat of Trump-Netanyahu ally Bolsonaro.
Brazil sent a clear message that US imperialism and Zionism will not take control of their country.

🇺🇸🇬🇧 How Winston Churchill sold the American population on starting the Cold War:
After World War 2 victory, the US’ capitalist class viewed the Soviet Union as a threat, and the arms manufacturers were already salivating at the thought of a Cold War with the Soviet Union to continue profiteering off of the arms industry.
The problem? Joseph Stalin and the Soviet Union were popular in the United States after the USSR’s instrumental role in the defeat of Nazi Germany, and the sacrifice of 27 million Soviet lives.
In August 1945, 54% of Americans trusted the Soviet Union to cooperate with the United States. Americans referred to Stalin as ‘Uncle Joe’ and had fond memories of his cooperation with President Franklin Delano Roosevelt during the war.
The US’ expanding security state and elites knew that the mediocrity that was Harry Truman could not convince the American people that they now had to view the Soviet Union and Joseph Stalin as an enemy, even Harry Truman himself knew this.
The answer was to wheel in Winston Churchill, who had been resoundingly defeated in the 1945 UK general election with the arrival of Clement Attlee’s first Labour government.
As the British Empire was crumbling from bankruptcy and rebellion in the colonies against British rule, the US leadership recognised that Winston Churchill commanded more respect than Truman to sell the American population on confrontation with the Soviet Union.
On the 5th of March 1945, Harry Truman brought Winston Churchill onto the stage in Fulton, Missouri, for a speech to be broadcast to the nation. This was Churchill’s ‘Iron Curtain’ speech, framing the Soviet Union as a growing threat, abandoning any goodwill from the shared victory in WW2 and any hopes of peaceful cooperation.
With the Marshall Plan being readied to turn crumbling European empires into vassals, Churchill provided the US population the justification to start a global military empire and continue Europe’s barbarism and looting in the global south in the name of ‘fighting Soviet communism’.
Winston Churchill had played his part as the cigar-smoking, top hat-wearing, charismatic war hero, to transition the world from European empires to the US’ ruthless global empire. The only thing standing in the way of complete dominance was the Soviet Union.
🇬🇧🇺🇸 Prof. Richard Wolff: ‘Winston Churchill was the US’ FRONT MAN for the transition from European colonialism to the unipolar US empire.’
‘Winston Churchill was the public relations character. He could be the hero with the cigar, and the top hat, and all the rest of it, to make the transition from a European-based colonial system to a unipolar moment.
Not unipolar only in the government, but unipolar in the much more global empire sense of that term. He was a transition, performing his act alongside that of General de Gaulle, who had another role to play in the same transition.’

Top Secret US memo sent from Brazil on 27 March 1964 outlining programme to undermine democratically-elected social democratic president João Goulart:
"We are meanwhile undertaking complementary measures with our available resources to strengthen resistance forces. These include covert support for pro-democracy street rallies....and encouragement [of] democracy and anti-communist sentiment in Congress, armed forces, friendly labor and student groups, church, and business. We may be requesting modest supplementary funds for other covert action programs in near future."
The typical CIA playbook. In this case, the operation was successful. President Goulart was overthrown in a military coup which began 4 days later. A brutal US-backed military dictatorship was installed and ruled for the next 21 years.
Trump's CIA just failed against Lula though. Hope for the world. The US empire is eminently beatable in Latin America - and everywhere. Washington puppets Milei, Paz, Noboa et al are next.
