Karl Bushby. A fraud? Maybe. A father? Certainly not. My take, for what it’s worth. It upsets me, so here we go. Karl Bushby has returned to the UK after a ‘28 year walk around the world’. And is being heralded by global media. This is close to my heart. Karl covered 36,000 miles (58,000km) in 28 years. And did 1 truly epic thing, a 14 day crossing of the Bering Strait, joining Alaska to Russia. Only 8 people have done it. Legendary. Serious legit! He also crossed the Darien Gap, joining Panama to Colombia. Deep forest, drug runner territory (although manageable, over 500k crossed in 2023). But holding him up as some modern Shackleton? That’s where I have a problem. ABANDONED HIS SON: As someone who grew up without a father, the fact Karl started this journey when his son was 8, and just f*cked off knowing he was leaving him behind, is horrific. Selfish. His son visited him just 4 times in 3 decades. First time as a young adult. Karl also claimed on an American podcast that as a former British soldier he COULDN’T return to Belfast to see his son. I grew up in Northern Ireland, my entire childhood. That’s a bare-faced lie. And Karl knows the American audience WOULDN’T know that. A fake excuse for leaving his 8-year-old behind. Shameful. His son Adam now has a child, and reportedly Karl hasn’t even met his grandchild. And we’re celebrating this man? ABANDONED HIS MUM: His mum is 78, in ill health. He’s seen her 3 times in almost 3 decades. What are we doing here? HE LIVED IN MEXICO FFS!!! The 28 year ‘journey’ is basically a lie. He spent YEARS living in Mexico. OVER A DECADE not walking, by his own admission. Still didn’t visit his family though. LESS THAN 10,000 STEPS A DAY?! MILLIONS of people walk 10k steps daily. Karl averaged under 3 miles a day across his ‘expedition’. I do that playing with my kid and walking around my house. Actual expedition legends? Nicholas Bourne ran Africa in 318 days, Jesper Kenn Olsen in 434. Around 30km daily, unsupported. 10x Karl’s average, across a harder continent. ‘28 YEARS’ People see 28 years and assume it’s impressive. Take 2 minutes to consider how ridiculous that is. Serge Girard walked Tokyo to Paris (similar to Karl’s second half) in 261 days. 55-year-old Holly Harrison WALKED Argentina to Alaska (Karl’s first half) in 530 days. Including the Darien Gap. Combine them and you’re looking at 26 MONTHS. Not 28 years. Admittedly without the legendary Bering Strait crossing. Done in 3/4/5 years? Truly impressive. Three decades? Ridiculous to herald. TO THE MOON? At Holly Harrison’s daily pace, Karl could have walked from Earth to the MOON, and 40,000 miles beyond, in 28 years. Ridiculous. 13 YEARS STATIONARY Bushby admitted spending 13 years stationary. Yet still pushes the ‘28 years’ narrative. So he wasn’t walking for 28 years. And even removing those 13 years, his average barely reaches 10,000 steps daily. WHY NOT FLY HOME TO SEE YOUR SON? YOUR MUM?! GET A JOB TO FUND THE EXPEDITION? 11 YEARS TO CROSS RUSSIA? After his legendary Bering Strait crossing and arrest, Bushby took 11 years to cover roughly 4,000 miles across Russia into Mongolia. Thousands of ultra runners (me included, and I’m nothing special) can do 100km daily. One 90-day visa could cover that distance. Even at half that pace, two visas could do it within a year. Long before his Russian ban. The whole thing stinks. Anyway, I know how tough life is without a father. No-one to teach you what it means to be a man. How to shave. How to date. How to kick a football. And Karl was drinking tequila in Mexico while his son figured that out alone, then offering excuses, and now being heralded as a hero. In my opinion, it’s not cool at all. There are plenty of true legends doing amazing things to follow. Some guy ghosting his family and pretending he’s an adventurer doesn’t cut it for me. Thanks for listening to my ted talk.

BREAKING: Sleep and neurology researchers confirm that "morning grogginess" in ADHD is actually severe Sleep Inertia—a state where the prefrontal cortex takes up to 60 minutes longer to restore blood flow and dopamine signaling after waking up than a neurotypical brain. If waking up your ADHD child (or yourself) at 7:00 AM feels like trying to wake up a hibernating bear who wants to fight everyone in the house, here is the science of why:
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The linked study is a conference abstract showing a statistical association between sleep inertia symptoms and adult ADHD. It does not measure or mention prefrontal cortex recovery, blood flow, dopamine signaling, or a 60-minute difference academic.oup.com/sleep/article/…

Corporate greed is Microsoft making $134 billion in profits last year, receiving $19 billion in tax breaks under Trump, paying a lower federal income tax rate than a nurse and getting rid of 60,000 workers. “Corporations will create jobs if they get tax breaks” is a total scam.

Let’s pretend this is true. British people for whatever reason, simply aren’t having enough children to grow up and look after you when you’re older. Be as racist as you want, that’s simple maths. Now unless British people change their minds on that, for example the government try and offer free childcare & free school meals and the same people who hate foreigners, also tend to be the same people who don’t think we should waste money on British children Then eventually those young people HAVE to come from somewhere!!! If Brits aren’t making children, you have to import them. Now pre Brexit, foreigners used to be white because the majority were from Europe But Nigel Farage said if we get Brexit, we can stop Europeans coming to the UK & invite commonwealth people instead like Asians & Africans So now you’re getting black and brown people instead And THAT is what seems to upset you. So either encourage Brits to have children and that means be more supportive of parties that actually try to make that happen Or be fine with foreigners coming to the UK OR Blame Nigel Farage for this situation 🤷‍♂️
We're becoming a minority in our own homeland. Our women are being raped on an industrial scale. Labour are in court trying to hiding crime stats to stop nationwide riots. If you're not voting for Reform you're a traitor, rape sympathiser and taking part in an Ethnocide.

UK ; We can't afford to have all these people with ADHD not working and claiming benefits; ADHD community; okay, so are you going to provide us with better access to NHS care, improved access to medication and ramp up support services? UK; no, we also think you shouldn't be supported by the NHS because it's too expensive. ADHD community ; okay, so what if we spend our own money to go private, and obtain support that way? UK; we won't recognise the private diagnosis and you'll have to sit on a year's long waiting list. ADHD community; well, what about supporting us in employment, so we are able to support ourselves, by providing reasonable adjustments and supportive working environments? UK; Businesses don't want to employ you because we let the media call you all lazy and workshy, so that's going to be difficult ADHD community; Well, what do you expect us to do?! UK; Not our problem

I strongly oppose the removal of the pensions triple-lock. More than 2 million pensioners live in poverty. They will be the ones who suffer the most by taking away pension security. We must protect the principle of universalism. That is why we opposed cuts to winter fuel - and that is why we must oppose any means-testing of the state pension. This isn't about old versus young. This is about the super-rich versus the rest. That's why we should be taxing wealth to fund social care for all.

The most interesting thing about Right to Buy is it should have meant Councils had loads of money to build new Council Houses But actually they stopped Because Thatcher blocked Councils from using this money to build houses and cut their budget from central Government. Because of their increased incomes.

This is an absolute delight to listen to, and worth 5 minutes of anyone's time. A 94-year-old Clacton resident schools Reform UK Cllr Justin Jay out canvassing for Farage. Jay is not the brightest, claiming Farage is paying the £250k election costs, which of course is a lie.

Here's what the landlord lobby don't want you to know: If rents went down by 20%, renters would save £2400 a year. The government would save £2 billion a year. And landlords would still make 4.5 times as much profit as the average business.

🚨 Imho, not enough people are (yet) familiar with this photo of Nigel Farage with convicted criminal fraudster “Posh” George Cottrell (far-right) and corrupt convicted criminal Nathan Gill (centre), the former leader of Reform UK in Wales and a former Brexit Party MEP. On 22 July 2016 (just after the Brexit referendum), while attending the Republican National Convention (#NATCON) with Farage, Cottrell was arrested by IRS Criminal Investigation special agents at Chicago O'Hare International. Cottrell was federally indicted on 21 counts for conspiracy to commit money laundering, wire fraud, blackmail, and extortion. In 2014, he had met with undercover IRS federal agents in Las Vegas, where he conspired to launder millions of dollars' worth of drug money using offshore bank accounts. Reform UK are the first UK political party to accept crypto donations. Following a plea agreement in December 2016, prosecutors agreed to dismiss 20 counts in return for a guilty plea to a single count of wire fraud in which Cottrell admitted to explaining various ways criminal proceeds could be laundered. In March 2017, Cottrell was sentenced and released from prison, having served eight months. In February 2026, “anti-elite” Reform UK's privately educated multimillionaire Nigel Farage, Reform UK's privately educated multimillionaire Richard Tice, and Reform UK's privately educated multimillionaire treasurer, Nick Candy (who features in the #EpsteinFiles), along with Reform UK's privately educated London mayoral candidate Laila Cunningham, Reform UK's privately educated Old Etonian weirdo Policy Advisor James Orr, and GB “News” presenter and former Brexit Party MEP, Martin Daubney, all attended the launch of privately educated multimillionaire George Cottrell's book, 'How to Launder Money', at the luxury hotel Raffles on Whitehall. Other attendees included: Ed Sumner (Head of Communications for Reform UK and a former Welsh Conservative staffer with some past controversy over WhatsApp comments on diversity and immigration); Jack Anderton, a young anti-immigrant social media campaigner and adviser closely tied to Farage and Reform UK, known for running Farage’s TikTok and working on campaigns; Aaron Lobo, Director of Operations at Reform UK with a background as a producer at GB News and LBC; Charles Carlson, nephew of Tucker Carlson, who worked as a Reform UK press aide before moving to a role at Palantir where he now operates in UK government relations and tech circles with right-leaning ties. Among 'journalists' attending the book launch were: Glen Owen, Political Editor of the Mail on Sunday; Christian Calgie, Senior Political Correspondent (notably at the Daily Express, with moves toward Daily Mail roles); Mark Wallace, CEO of Total Politics Group (a politics media company owned by Lord Ashcroft) and former ConservativeHome CEO; Samuel Armstrong, 'Legislative Affairs Director' at Toby Young's highly partisan Free Speech Union, and; Mike Graham, podcaster and disgraced former commentator on TalkTV and GB News. In 2020, when asked about his relationship with Cottrel, Farage described him as “like a son to me”. In November 2025, Gill was jailed for 10.5 years after pleading guilty to bribery charges after accepting over £40,000 from an operative linked to Russian secret services in exchange for pro-Russian speeches and TV interviews. Anyone who still believes this bunch have working class people's interests at heart is a fool.

JK Rowling wants you to think she is being silenced. That she is the lone voice of reason. That by defending biological sex she is defending women. I have read her essay. I have looked at the science. Here is what is actually true. Her arguments are dishonest. Her concerns are manufactured. Her legacy is not empowerment. It is harm. She says sex is real. Nobody disagrees with that. But she presents it as a simple binary when biology has never been a simple binary. Intersex people exist. Chromosomes vary. Hormones and anatomy do not always align in the way she describes. She paints the world in two colours because the full picture does not serve her argument. She says trans people using bathrooms is a threat. The data says otherwise. When Massachusetts introduced trans inclusive public accommodation nothing changed. No increase in crime. No spike in assaults. The only thing that changed was that trans people could use a toilet without being in danger. The people getting assaulted in bathrooms are trans people, particularly when forced into the wrong ones. She does not mention that. She mocks inclusive medical language as if public health should centre her comfort rather than reach everyone who needs care. That language exists so trans men and non-binary people are not excluded from menstrual health services. It does not erase women. It means more people get the care they need. She cites rapid onset gender dysphoria as though it is a clinical diagnosis. It is not. The study that coined the term was based on parent reports from online forums, not clinical interviews with the young people being described. Every major medical body rejects it. She keeps repeating it because it sounds alarming. Because if you say social contagion often enough people stop asking for evidence. She says youth healthcare is dangerous. Puberty blockers are reversible and have been studied for decades. The evidence shows they improve mental health outcomes in trans adolescents. Suicide rates are higher in young people who are refused care. If she had read the literature honestly she would know this. The question is whether she has read it and chosen to ignore it. She says most people regret transition. They do not. Regret rates after gender affirming surgery are around one percent. Most people who detransition do so because of external pressure, family rejection, housing loss or job loss. Not because they were not trans. She knows what the research shows. It does not fit her narrative so she leaves it out. She says trans women in prison endanger other women. Trans women placed in men’s prisons are significantly more likely to be raped or assaulted. The US Supreme Court addressed this decades ago. She says she is protecting women. She ignores the ones her logic puts in danger. She says trans women in sport are categorically unfair. The science does not support a categorical position. Hormone therapy reduces muscle mass and strength. Effects vary by sport. That is why most sports bodies are developing nuanced sport-specific guidance rather than blanket bans. She does not want nuance. Nuance does not generate the response she is looking for. She says she is asking questions. But questions have consequences. Every concern she raises has a downstream effect. It shows up in legislation. In bathroom bans. In protest signs outside hospitals. In children being denied healthcare. Her words are not neutral. They travel. They arrive somewhere and that somewhere has a body count. The woman who built her legacy on a story about love defeating hatred is now building a new legacy on fear. She has aligned herself with organisations listed as hate groups. She has become a figure celebrated by people who do not care about women, do not care about children and do not care about anyone who is not useful to their immediate political goals. She is not standing up for women. She is standing on trans people to elevate herself.
