This work is also seminal in using observational data to study the effect of correcting inequalities in access to treatment - do read on!
Ahead of #WorldCancerDay, research funded by @CR_UK led by @camaringe, Dr Manuela Quaresma @LSHTM shows that keyhole surgery for colon cancer is not reaching those who could benefit most.

A really important concept here - the intersectionality in inequity - a close relation to the nursing perspective of personalised assessments… data must reflect the multiplicity of care & outcome analysis #CRUKDataConf24

As part of #WorldCancerDay, ICON and @LSHTM_CGCC will be hosting a hybrid film screening and Q&A on Thursday 8 February.
The film reveals how involving communities in
research is the first step in helping us #CloseTheCareGap. More details to follow!

If you’ve considered using Targeted Maximum Likelihood Estimation in the past for an observational study and decided not to use it, what was the main reason for not using it?

Measurements of deprivation are very important for research on health #inequalities, but do area-level scores and personal deprivation experienced by those living in the area match up? Find out in @DrFionaIngleby @aurelien_belot @BMJ_Open published today: bmjopen.bmj.com/content/10/1…

Further evidence that #Cancer shouldn't be forgotten in 2020! Timely access to treatment is paramount!
We estimate for each 4 week delay in cancer treatment around a 10% increase in the risk of death.
Meta-analysis of 7 cancers.
We must continue cancer treatments during the 2nd #COVID19 wave or face a significant rise in avoidable cancer deaths.

Really looking forward to this closing session of the #NCRIVirtual. Prof. Sir Mike Richards always has pearls of wisdom to share!
The #NCRIVirtual Showcase closing session starts in 5 mins: 'In conversation with… Mike Richards'. One not to miss! 👨🏫
