Asked about Posh George, the imprisoned fraudster, Farage points at Louise Haigh and claims that “Burnham is about to put a convicted fraudster into the cabinet.” Moments later, he says that George’s conviction is spent, invoking Christian forgiveness, second chances, loyalty to friends, and even gesturing vaguely at the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. His hypocrisy is off the scale. Haigh received a conditional discharge for an offence before she was a politician, no prison sentence, and her minor conviction is long spent. Farage’s attempt to equate the two isn’t just misleading it’s wilfully absurd.

We need to destroy the benefits class. Utterly destroy them, even if that means the worst for them. I despise benefits and people on them.
