Whop has raised $200M in Series D funding at a $5.1B valuation, backed by @sequoia and @shopify.
It really feels like we are barely touching the tip of the iceberg in a market larger than anyone can imagine.
We first launched Whop as a better way for us to sell sneaker bots, one of the most niche types of desktop software out there.
Total TAM? Probably $20,000 per day.
Who cares, tiny market.
But, what people discounted is the idea that there were actually 70,000 other markets exactly like that one.
Beyond the investment itself, I am especially excited to welcome legendary silicon valley investor @dougleone to our board of directors. Doug and the sequoia team are nothing but a brilliant, resourceful, and principled group of people.
My co-founder Cameron and I started building on Shopify when we were 13 years old. Shopify is one of the most impactful all-in-one cloud ecosystems ever created; @tobi has pioneered modern entrepreneurship the way we know it and we are thrilled to have him in our corner.
We have a tenet at Whop to be the dumbest in the room and I am very grateful that this has recently become a lot easier.
We are focused on markets, scale economies, and progressive media. If that is up your alley, please message me directly.
The $200M raised will support our expansion as we build economic infrastructure for the next century, continuing on our mission of delivering everyone an income.
AI agents can negotiate, pay, and settle on-chain in seconds. But how do they prove a physical job actually got done?
I just submitted my paper "The Last-Mile Oracle" to the @Ledger N3XT research bounty. I explore why smart contracts are blind to the physical world, and how DePIN + hardware interlocks are the only way to scale the Agentic Economy safely.

What happens if $NVDA misses the mark on the next earnings report? Gotta stay diversified…ATHs seem extremely fragile.
It's official:
IBM stock, $IBM, is now on track for its biggest daily decline since 1968, down -26%.
That's -$70 billion in market cap erased today.
The lesson? Don't get comfortable in the AI economy, keep evolving.
The success of crypto as a whole seemingly continues to be dependent on the success of bitcoin. How much external value creation would there be if BTC soared back to all time highs?
It feels like the industry is sitting behind a paywall. People don’t want to waste time building in a space if it looks like it’s dying, and people don’t want to invest in a space that’s idle. What quantity of companies, ideas or capital is just waiting on the sidelines due to market conditions?
Is investing in bitcoin for the sake of owning bitcoin? or as a bet on the industry? I don’t think buying bitcoin for the sake of bitcoin is as good of a narrative.

BREAKING: The SEC is set to release its so-called "innovation exemption" for tokenized stocks which will pave the path for trading digital versions of securities, per Bloomberg.
Details include:
1. In a "surprise move," the SEC is leaning toward allowing the trading of tokenized assets
2. These tokenized assets would be tradeable on decentralized crypto platforms
3. The move could "reshape the landscape of the American stock market"
4. This would also be one of the US' biggest shifts into crypto infrastructure yet
Tokenized assets are rapidly expanding.
