Somewhere between the nonsense of my 30s and its occasional revelations lies a very good cup of tea, and I shall live there. ☕️

Rahman has spent decades creating music that transcends religious and cultural boundaries. one of the most remarkable things about Rahman is that he has never confined himself to a single musical tradition. His work draws from Carnatic and Hindustani music, Sufi traditions, Western classical music, electronic music, and folk traditions. What particularly bothers me about this kind of debate is the possibility that we stop discussing artistic merit and start imposing religious boundaries on who is allowed to tell our cultural stories. sad

Some people just won’t get it, there’s nothing anyone can do about it. Something’s people just have to learn on their own, and you need to let them learn the hard way sometimes unfortunately.

I'm so fed up of filmmakers staging horrendous violence (almost always towards women) as an excuse to show oppression and establish a heinous villain. It doesn't have the intended effect when you clearly Relish staging those scenes. You can feel them salivating at the ugliness

Sanjay Leela Bhansali was the only director who really knew how to properly use Aishwarya’s beauty & talent in the right way

Why directors need to have women in their writing rooms or discussions. Violence against women is not something you use to gain brownie points for your protagonist
This and also when they use violence against women as a plot device for the hero arc/redemption arc for the male characters (most often when women get raped/assaulted and the hero comes to avenge her)
