HEBRON is the first Pal city I visited back in 2010, before Gaza. I was SHOCKED by what I witnessed there. I couldn't believe my own eyes. The violence of a suffocating military occupation was unbearable. However, Israeli allies allowed it to continue till today's point of NoReturn

Over one year since the ceasefire agreement, more than 1,400 people have been killed by Israeli forces in Gaza, nearly two million still need shelter, not a single hospital is fully functioning, and 1.4 million face crisis-level hunger. Accountability cannot be swept under the rubble. The recovery and future of Gaza cannot be separated from a framework grounded in international law, justice, and the rights of victims. The persistent failure to hold Israel accountable and press Israel to comply with the International Court of Justice’s binding orders continues to fuel the atrocity crimes on a mass scale against Palestinians.

The Secretary General of @amnesty has an amazing capacity of lucid analysis and the rare gift of always calling things with their names. The world leaders should really follow her in their human rights policy and decision making. The world would be a better place 👇
The EU had months to identify solutions and implement them. Instead they sought to appease the predator-in-chief. And guess what? The only response was escalation. The era of the predators is also the era of the cowards. So now what? Continue to appease? “Negotiate”? Or take resolute actions, providing the ICC with the support it needs to continue its operations, such as alternative, Euro-only banking and payment systems that operate strictly in Euros and via European servers that would allow the EU to safeguard funding to the ICC, NGOs and all those cooperating with the Court? It has never been enough to simply declare, however emphatically, one’s commitment to international law and justice. One cannot compromise with or appease a predator, because either way we all end up on his menu.

Today, Brad Lander, rabbis, and other New Yorkers accompanied Palestinian farmers during the olive harvest. For that, they were detained by the Israeli government.  Harvesting olives is not illegal. The occupation is. I am thankful that Brad has been released. But other New Yorkers remain detained, and they must be released immediately. The same Israeli government detaining them has committed a horrific genocide against Palestinians, killing more than 74,000 people over the last few years alone.  The detention of these New Yorkers must end. The occupation must end. The genocide must end.

Imagine what they do to the Palestinians if this is how the treat a US journalist of the Washington Post
Heidi Levine, the Washington Post journalist brutally attacked by Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank last week, said the terrifying ordeal has only strengthened her resolve to continue covering the plight of Palestinians. cnn.it/4iBNh4Y

I welcome the Sakharov Prize awarded to the International Criminal Court. For victims of the world's gravest crimes, justice means a voice. The @IntlCrimCourt must be free to pursue its mission, independently, and without pressure or intimidation. Europe stands firmly behind President Tomoko Akane, the Court's judges and officials, and their vital work for a world governed by rules.

The situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory is out of control. In Gaza, essential aid is still being severely restricted by Israel. In the occupied West Bank, Palestinians continue to suffer daily attacks by Israeli settlers and journalists & diplomats are being attacked. There must be a credible political path towards lasting peace, ending the occupation and realizing a two-State solution, with Israel & Palestine living side by side in peace & security.

I’ve had the opportunity to view NAZA, the investigative documentary by Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor. Much has already been written about it, so I’ll limit myself to one comment: In 1979 Edward W. Said published his seminal essay, “Zionism from the Standpoint of Its Victims”. I think NAZA is best described as “Zionism from the Standpoint of Its Perpetrators". If there is one documentary that encapsulates how Zionism relates to Palestinians, as individuals and as a people, this is it.
