The smarter you are, the more you realize most arguments aren’t about facts, they’re about protecting fragile egos that can’t survive reality.

I've been thinking about this a lot. I see a pull toward more customized & free-form learning paths. Engineers still value instruction and expert reviews are more valuable than ever, but they also want the freedom to connect what they're learning right to what they want to build.
Dilemma - ai moves too fast for my past preferred learning methods and it feels like ai is the best thing to help me go deeper, but I only “trust“ ai when I have at least a foundational understanding. Any of y’all figured this out yet? Or do I just dive in and validate?

If you’d ever met my brother, then you knew he was a Bears super fan. It may be silly but I can’t help but think this winning streak is for him.

Because you’re a rockstar.
Something I did to stand out in the interview process - while doing my little research, I noticed there was a video that didn’t play on the marketing site. I debugged and sent the hiring manager a bug ticket with 2 possible solutions. Make yourself memorable.

I’m excited for you. Congrats!!!
I know I haven’t been around much, but you might have noticed that I’ve been a bit unhappy in my role. Imagine how pleased I was to accept a stellar offer with a solid company this week. I’m so excited to push myself as a full stack engineer. Feel free to celebrate with me friend

I am tired of selling things. That includes selling myself. Just want to do good work, be satisfied with the results, and provide for my family by God's grace. Interesting season of life.

Hey, check out my newest blog post about me getting into mechanistic interpretability. Next one is going to be the curriculum I’m following step by step fill in knowledge gaps. 👇👇👇
I fell down the rabbit hole of mechanistic interpretability of neural networks, so I'm spending some time down here and learning all that I can. I wrote about why on my blog 👇👇👇 wellingtonjohnson.com/blog/c…
