Happy 78th birthday to Kentucky’s beloved and iconic Dan Issel! Dan played three seasons at UK and became its all-time leading scorer and rebounder. Records he still holds 56 years later. His professional career spanned 15 years, and when he retired in 1985, he was the 5th leading scorer in professional basketball history and 15th leading rebounder (ABA and NBA combined). Let that sink in. He led his teams to six championship series, including winning the 1975 ABA championship with the Kentucky Colonels. Dan is a great and gracious gentleman whom we can never adequately thank for all the wonderful memories he’s given us. But we can still try. Happy birthday to a legendary human being, Dan Issel!! And thank you!! @abathrowbacks ; @COLCOMEBACK ; @nba2lou

Miami and ... Utah are the others. --That mushroom cloud you see over Eugene is Oregon being knocked out of the national picture by Illinois. The preseason no 1 in some quarters is now 4-3. --New Mexico has the nation's no 1 scoring defense after beating North Dakota St 21-13. The Lobos lead the Mountain West and are in the thick of the g6 playoff berth chase. Ticket manager/coach Jason Eck, a hot coaching property, and his Lobos played before the largest unm crowd in 21 years. --No 25 Arizona controls its own destiny in the Big 12 and, consequently, for a playoff berth. --Per CBS Sports, the last time FBS had 3 or fewer undefeated teams by OCT 24 was 1977 -- the year before FBS was created. --Wake Forest is 6-1 having won four Power Four games on the road.

Just a tremendous play by Kent Johnson to get this puck to Charlie Coyle. Fantilli's shot finds that back of the net at 77.7 MPH to win it. None of this happens without Cam Talbot, who was awesome all night to get this game to overtime. #CBJ
ADAM FANTILLI RIPS HOME THE ONE-TIMER IN @ENERGIZER OVERTIME!!! 😮‍💨

Little close for comfort but OHIO WINS! Bobcats move to 6-2, 4-0 in MAC, bowl-eligible once again and extend the nation’s longest home winning streak. #OUOhYeah

At this point Michigan should give Fowler Nicholosi a shot at QB. Can’t be worse.

To give people an idea how long these cases last before the actual trial, last night the attorneys in Patterson (athletes v. NCAA/P4 conf) submitted a briefing schedule for discovery and a proposed trial date. That trial date…not expected until February 2029 (yes, ‘29).
Meanwhile, Patterson v. NCAA is quietly becoming the 2nd most important eligibility case in the country. Today, the NCAA asked the Tennessee federal court to hit pause while the 10th Cir. Court of Appeals sorts out the Colorado injunction case. The athletes’ response? Um, no. ⬇️

Dale Brown was a trailblazer, and many of his actions with the NCAA foreshadowed the evolution into the NIL era we have today. As an 80s kid growing up in South Louisiana, I saw Dale Brown's impact on my youth. Dale Brown made LSU basketball relevant, and Dale built and maximized LSU basketball’s capabilities as a consistent force in the SEC. Dale Brown’s program helped grow my love of LSU in the early days of my LSU fandom. Dale wasn’t perfect, and his teams underachieved at times, but good gosh, the product was fun to watch. I still remember the LSU-Duke game my dad and I attended in ‘92. The Deaf Dome was rocking I wanted to pay tribute to the LSU Icon. LSU lost two icons in less than 90 days. #ForeverLSU
