Hey @Apple - nothing works on my phone since your most recent forced update. I can’t send images via text anymore, among other problems. I’m close to switching to an android phone if this enshittification trend keeps up. #nothingworksanymore

I would love one day for the opportunity to interview or debate Bret Stephens. He says so much nonsense with so much confidence. The whataboutism is here is pathetic. Is the interior minister of Japan daily bragging about mass murder and ethnic murder and making foreign mothers cry? Is the interior minister of Japan receiving billions of dollars in US military aid? Is the interior minister of Japan's government being investigated by the ICJ for genocide and wanted at the ICC for war crimes? Are we in a war alongside Japan right now? Do US politicians, both GOP and Dem, declare they entered politics to defend Japan or have dreams about Japan? I could keep going...
NYT's Bret Stephens whines that Democrats know "Smotrich and Ben-Gvir" but not "the interior minister of Japan." Their "obsession" with Israel drives him "crazy." (Being politically informed on Israel is now anti-Semitic.)

I'm reminded of Conan O'Brien's point that all statues should be made of soap. Watching Farage these days is like watching one such melt in the rain. Oh, the fall, the fall, the higgledy-piggledy crashing fall.
Nigel Farage is asked if comments by Raheem Kassam calling Kemi Badenoch a Nigerian scammer are racist. Farage: "... he's Indian, he's of Indian heritage" "Does that mean he can't be racist?" "I don't know. You tell me"

I found one of the approximately six buildings built in 1932. Props to the optimistic souls who put it up.

NPR has some great interviews with writers and other artists, and it's Congressional reporting is super. But I had to stop listening after October 7, as it has been National Pentagon Radio on Gaza, relentless pro Israeli pandering and propaganda. Who talks like this?
In my interviews with Israelis, a portrait has emerged: a people defiant but weary, resistant to Palestinian pain but traumatized from war, fed up with the world but fearful of global isolation, and in a tug-of-war with themselves. Read and listen: npr.org/2026/10/25/g-s1-1495…

Allow me to introduce you to Jonas Salk, one of the great heroes of the 20th century
I’ve asked this before but is there any historical event that is like the Opposite of 9/11. Like something so good that happened that it changed the world forever

The most anti-intellectual US political party in at least a century is reaching for intellectual prizes as the measure of worth?
RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Novel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."

Hard to exaggerate the anger and confusion that a lot of American Gen X pro Isr*el fanatics are experiencing over the fact that Americans now have direct access to world and especially Israeli media. They presumed it would be their role to shape and regulate public opinion.

Disturbing how centrists mentally slip from "let's tactically avoid criticizing Democrats since Republicans are worse" to "Democrats never do anything wrong since Republicans are worse." VBNMW isn't just a tactic, it's a whole weird epistemology

In the final days of Lula’s campaign, he promised free public transit on the weekend across Brazil. Will be incredible if he pulls that off.

In line with long historical practice, capitalist markets are already punishing the people of Brazil with capital flight, yanking assets from the country and making it far harder for the government to meet the public’s demands

Democrats are an inch away from calling Trump gay in a misguided attempt to appeal to “the common man.” The worst part is that I bet some consultant got paid hundreds of thousands to come up with the “messaging” that turns into these “jokes.”
Bill Clinton: "I think Congress made a mistake not protesting turning the Rose Garden into what looks like the entrance to Liberace's bathroom"
