Wonderful to see Winds of Yawanawa reach Art Basel Miami Beach after the Scorpios unveiling. The new canvases with Nawashahu and Mukashahu should be remarkable.
30 days until @ArtBasel Miami Beach.
Where ancestral knowledge meets the possibilities of digital art.
This December, Winds of Yawanawa, the groundbreaking collaboration between the Yawanawá and Refik Anadol, arrives at Zero 10, Art Basel’s initiative dedicated to art of the digital era.
The presentation brings together the original drawings by Yawanawá artists Nawashahu and Mukashahu, all 1,000 works from the digital collection, and three newly commissioned canvases, revealing the evolving dialogue between Indigenous artistic traditions and contemporary technology.
Presented by Scorpios in collaboration with HOFA Gallery and Instituto Nixiwaka.

Strongly welcome this. London's cultural life depends on the smaller venues and companies as much as the flagship institutions, and a levy like this could genuinely help keep them all open.
Great news: the Government has introduced legislation that would give London the power to introduce an Overnight Visitor Levy.
I strongly welcome this step, which could help fund the places, culture and infrastructure that make our city one of the world's greatest destinations, and support our visitor economy.

We are deeply honoured to welcome H.E. Lucie Berger, Ambassador of the European Union to the United Arab Emirates, as a distinguished Keynote Speaker at the Art Connects Women 9th Edition Conference, taking place on 13 November 2026 in Dubai.
A distinguished diplomat with extensive experience in international relations, climate action, and multilateral cooperation, H.E. @BergerLucie brings an exceptional perspective on the intersection of diplomacy, sustainability, and international collaboration.
Having served in various strategic roles within the European Commission, including the Directorate-General for Climate Action, she has contributed to shaping regional climate cooperation strategies and advancing international negotiations under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
Her commitment to strengthening international partnerships and advancing sustainable development resonates deeply with the vision of Art Connects Women and our belief in the transformative power of culture as a catalyst for positive change.
Under the theme “Educate to Empower”, this year's edition brings together 115 women artists from 115 countries, celebrating the power of education, cultural exchange, and women's leadership in shaping a more inclusive and sustainable future.
We look forward to an inspiring exchange of perspectives and insights from H.E. Lucie Berger as we explore how diplomacy, culture, and collective action can contribute to a better tomorrow.
Welcome to Art Connects Women 2026, Your Excellency!

Good news, and long may the fundraising continue. Those musicians have been through a great deal. I hope we see them back on stage very soon.
Phoenix Symphony musicians, board and staff report fundraising progress and discuss a possible return to performances, potentially this month. No restart date has been confirmed.

Jeppe Hein's benches are such a delight. I first came across them in a European square and watched people hesitate, then laugh, then settle in. Public art that asks something of you, and rewards the answer.
Not your ordinary park bench.
Danish artist Jeppe Hein's Modified Social Benches turn everyday public seating into playful, interactive sculptures.
First introduced in 2005, the series features benches that bend, twist, rise, and dip into unexpected shapes, encouraging people to sit, recline, and interact in unusual ways.
The idea is simple: transform an ordinary place to rest into an opportunity for play, curiosity, and social interaction.

As Silicon Valley rumbles on the coming Third Wave of Philanthropy, I’ve been questioning where does art and culture sit in this conversation…
A lot of thoughts coming soon
I well remember from my record company days how talent spotted early tends to stay spotted. These pupils devising their own theatre from Miss Jean Brodie - thrilling to see.

Congratulations on the new piece. Asendorf sits exactly at the boundary between art and technology that keeps me coming back to his work. Wonderful to see it collected with this much care.
Couldn’t resist! Just added another PXL NET by @kimasendorf to my collection today. This time a stunning 50,000 PXL piece.
The entire PXL NET collection currently has a floor-based market cap of just ~$100K. 🤯
Here’s what makes it interesting:
Around 82 million of the 128 million PXL allocated to PXL NET have been minted so far. There are currently 1,125 NFTs, but nobody knows how many there will be in the end. It all depends on how many pixels collectors choose to mint per NFT.
And @nodefnd is apparently still selling. Once the primary supply is exhausted, I wouldn’t be surprised to see prices rise. 👀
Meanwhile, PXL NET is arguably Kim’s most affordable collection right now.
For comparison, his X0X collection consists of just 1,000 NFTs and has a floor-based market cap of approximately $1.4 million. That’s roughly 14 times PXL NET’s current valuation!
Of course, they’re different works with different mechanics. But that valuation gap is certainly interesting.
For me Kim Asendorf is a true Master of Pixel, a Sensei of abstract digital art. And I’m happy to keep collecting his work. 🖤
Can an experience be the artwork?

There need to be more posts about BBC Young Musician of the Year final on BBC2 right now!! Switch over from Strictly!!!
Completely fair, and the record bears you out. If registrars and collections data people aren't in the room from day one, this repeats the same story. I'll be watching for shared cataloguing standards to arrive before the second press release.
Over the years, you may have heard me use the term “institutional ego.” I’m often referring to the reason why the former initiative between MoMA, SFMoMA, and Tate Modern failed or the GII’s failures. I remember crying in grad school to Dr. Howard Besser over the inability of institutions to share more universal metadata practices, initiative after initiative. Do they even know how to not make the same mistakes again or are they, once again, trying to just reinvent the wheel? Cross-institutional initiatives are often led by individuals who don’t know which people should actually be in the room to help steer decisions on what is best for their collections. Please just remember, like everything else in this “space,” it’s not a new concept and there’s a lot to learn from that will save so much wasted time and energy.
This is exactly the boundary between art and technology I keep coming back to. Lovely watercolour feel to it, and the score clearly drives the story. Antrofrog has real instincts.
”an artist with zero skills” aka @antrofrog_ emerged in the last 40 days across socials, this video alone has now done somewhere around 200M views in 36h across platforms.
created by Antrogfrog using @midjourney and @krea_ai it is an absolute masterpiece in storytelling for short form.
Each clip has a hook, and build suspense and release, stacking on each other while all of them stay true to the premise.
a british gentleman in New York. each clip is perfect in length, music most likely drove the story, and the entire short ends with a morale. No need for gentlemen to stand in lines. You don’t need to be an asshole to skip lines, just do good. be good.
This is also not a one hit wonder on a specific platform, this video goes viral anywhere it’s posted, by antrofrog or people just downloading and re-uploading.
Within 5 hours he posted 2 separate videos on Instagram using this character and the second video sits at 62M views and counting.
this shows that while barrier to entry is lower than ever, true skills in storytelling and delivery still is the biggest moat. we might call it taste, because it sure ain’t luck.
A secondary outcome is that on Instagram Antrofrog now has 325k followers and the basics to continue to do what ever art they fancy doing.
what are you waiting for? in Antros own words:
