On holidays in the South of France and we have seen an impressive collection of county & club jerseys, far outnumbering soccer jerseys. Quality on display from @ONeills1918 @McKeeverSports @AzzurriSport Can we get a snap all #34CountyJerseys before the end of the week? 🧵

Another tax hike that most people aren’t aware of. PRSI going up again and will annually until 2028. You can bet there’ll be more after that.

‘Women are the first victim of immigrants’ When I worked in Paris over 20 years ago this was blatantly obvious. My GF (and other young female students we worked with) at the time used get harassed on the trains and metro is often. They’d get into personal space, ask for number, rub her shoulders, arms, leg etc. The ones we knew didn’t consider themselves French. Integration has failed and diversity is destroying much of 🇫🇷

This story in today’s @Independent_ie should make people angry. It shows how Irish graduates are not prioritised when approx 20k nursing visas have been granted since 2020 and 700 up to April this year alone. Why does Gov policy push our young to leave?

The granny consent ad is the ideal vehicle for @aontu and @independent_ire to drive for radical funding cuts to hyper-partisan, social justice theory-driven NGOs. The CUAN/DRCC advert is not a once off. It is symptomatic of radical institutional capture in NGOs and certain sections of public employment. Ireland is now an international laughing stock because of the granny consent adverts but the underlying theory that is behind this advert is being taught in schools and universities at the behest of the state and is seeping into all media via the state's funding of Coimisiún na Meán whose Mission Statement and funding provisions are grounded in social justice theory. Charlie Flanagan told the public in 2024 that these same radical NGOs have more influence on government policy than he did as a government backbencher. It's time too root it all out. Normal people do not want radical social justice theory rammed down their throats. The only reason it is happening is because the state keeps using taxpayer funds to do it.

And here we the list of TDs who don’t believe in science, they’ve no problem putting political ideology and culture wars first.
Here are the 63 TDs who supported Coppinger's bill attacking basic biology in the Dáil yesterday. Every one of the four TDs in my constituency (Dublin Central) supported this nonsense and yet if I took a straw poll in my neighbourhood, I guarantee you that it would be rejected.

A decent margin in the end, but the idea that 63 TDs voted against biological reality is still depressing.

Cuan's job is to tackle domestic, sexual and gender-based violence in Ireland. There are women stuck in abusive homes up and down the country because there are no beds available in women's shelters. And this advert - designed to challenge the scourge of affectionate grandparents - is what they are spending money on? Wasting money has real-world consequences. A mis-spent budget means someone stuck with an abusive partner longer than they had to be. Everyone involved in this decision - top to bottom - should be given their marching orders.
🇮🇪 The Irish state has published an advert discouraging grandparents from hugging their grandchildren, as part of a campaign designed to promote "consent".

Deputy Peadar Tóibín said Aontú believes that all citizens are valued, regardless of their sexual orientation, but he said the bill was anti-science and anti-evidence.

Unbelievably scary what’s happening in France. We need to act quick and shut down our visa system until it robust enough to handle reopen. We need to go back and re-examine those of got citizenship and visas we still have time to prevent what’s happening in Europe.

Almost all the educational ‘reforms’ over the last decade or more have made the syllabus worse, the content easier and assessment more prone to cheating. Genuine teachers have been saying this for years but it took low level personalities to get the farce covered

I'm shocked listening to @john_mcguirk & @sarahcatryan pod this week.. For 20 mins they discuss the strikes, complaining about pointless & costly programmes like "free school meals" & "free school books" After 18 mins, they question: "Who even asked for these programmes?" Let me tell you.... THE TRADE UNIONS DID!! Since 2014, INTO and Fórsa were organising campaigns for a "national school-hunger strategy", alongside NGOs. Kevin Callinan, now Fórsa General Secretary and the man leading public-sector pay negotiations, was heavily involved It gets worse... In its own Budget submission, ICTU explicitly calls for further expansion of BOTH hot school meals and free schoolbooks... + cheaper school transport, expanded GP visit cards and easier medical-card eligibility. School meals cost €286 MILLION Schoolbooks: €170 MILLION Everyone seem to be underestimating the wider political and economic agenda of the Unions. ICTU's Budget 2027 proposals include: • €1 increase in min wage. • A new second tier of Child Benefit (€773m) • Publicly provided childcare. • Greater welfare entitlements • Easier access social housing . • More public transport and green-energy spending. • A new State construction company. Fórsa also campaigns heavily on expanding asylum system, which is currently costing us BILLIONS. This all sounds wonderful but how do they propose funding it??? MORE TAXES: • Self-employed PRSI to move from 4% o 15% • Removal of agricultural reliefs, • Remove 9% hospitality VAT rate •.CGT on death: • 1% wealth tax. • Land/Site Valuation Tax • Eliminate CGT Entrepreneur Relief • More Carbon Taxes • Remove income-tax relief on insurance premiums. To be clear- I have enormous sympathy for ordinary teachers, nurses and other public servants struggling with the cost of living. But they have been completely failed by their own Unions, who have consistently prioritised every virtuous cause over them. You cannot demand an ever-expanding State without acknowledging the financial consequences. You reap what you sow. (highly recommend @JohnandSarahIrl 's podcast every week)

Perhaps it’s the deepening sense that this gov has become unviable Life is getting more expensive, public services overwhelmed & mismanagement mounts by the month. Frustration runs much deeper than any single pay dispute. It’s about a growing loss of confidence in those in power.

Disgraceful from IT. Is it too much to expected fair and balanced reporting anymore.
Irish journalists have been printing lies about this for years. Why is anyone's guess.
